I think Tina was kind and slowed it down just a little for Tom... Tom is a powerhouse, but Tina in a galaxy all her own... I think Janis Joplin made minor adjustments to accommodate Tom too . They realized that Tom cared and was probably as close to a performing equal they would ever find in a man. 💖❣️😲,💃
@revpgesqredux believe me, young Tom Jones burnt the stage for hours alone and that was before he emigrated to States. Seems to me, he holds his raunchy Rick dancing abd voice in. He needed no microphone for most of auditorium and often think....if they really heard him live on own shows. No wonder Elvis was impressed with that Welsh voice.
I've never seen anything like this, the best pairing of 2 superstars I have ever seen! Pity there isnt more. Both take professionalism and presentation to an untouchable level. Fantastic!
When Tom has his show in the 70's on TV, he could match anyone he had as guests. The best is that we can watch some on utube. Watch him with Wilson Pickett... especially the Hey Jude song... absolutely brilliant.
Me too, had no idea, awesome pairing, a video treasure! Wonder who thought to put those 2 together? Would be nice to hear them do a ballad or something slow & soulful too.💞👏👏✨
Putting Tom Jones and Tina Turner together was brilliant! Two powerhouse singers, dancers with sex appeal just dripping off of them!!!!! Loved this! 👏👏👏🎶🔥🔥🔥🎶👏👏👏
@kimbradley9595 who r you to shame people? Tina was one of the classiest singers of our century, always in great shape, awesome performer, well taken care of, gorgeous costumes and shows, talented musicians and singers around her.
Hello amazing fan. It has come to my notice that some of my fans thinks I was the person who died. Late jones was The one who conceived the twist on Romeo and Juliet with composer John Donald Robb. He died 11th August, of cancer in his home in Sharon. I’m still alive and much healthy. Thanks dear fan..
Sometimes you can have two excellent solo performers who just don't meld well together. But that's not the case here! Their two voices complement each other as if they'd been singing together all their professional lives. 😊
@@americanwomanFL -- Well, thank you. 🙂 I learned English the old fashioned way and had very good teachers. I mourn some of the bad grammar, spelling, syntax I read nowadays. Okay rant over. 😁
Electric. I have always loved Tom Jones his Welsh presence sex appeal and incredibly versatile voice. No wonder women dripped off his fingers AND NO HE IS NOT DECEASED. ANOTHER MEDIA BLUNDER THAT WAS Late Jones Tom assured me. Thank god cause O NEEDED IT, BABY!
Tina always made it look so easy but sir Tom and Tina it’s out of this world we will never be able to match anyone of these 2 amazing souls love love them both may the angels keep them alive in our hearts
This is so great!! This was 1978, so the same year Tina's divorce from Ike became final. She was working her way back up from zero. And God bless Tom Jones. He sounds fantastic! More importantly, he was giving Tina a platform and a showcase to kickstart her solo career. He always had so much respect and admiration for soulful American artists and artists of color on his show. He used his power and popularity to promote them and propel their careers. Because he was such a true and devoted fan of them himself. He deserves much credit for re-introducing them and bringing them back to UK and American audiences increasing their popularity throughout the world. Bravo Tom and Tina! Marvelous!

They used to call this talent, people. What a fantastic clip ! The both of them are so unique and this clip is pure gold. I'm glad I finally stumbled upon this as it's been up since 2011 and has nevr crossed my path. Thanks for posting ! RIP :T ina Turner, Long Live Tom Jones, who I had the privilege to finally see last September and even at 80 he was still a powerhouse and that voice is still quite phenomenal to be in the same room with. 👁💜‼

I was lucky enough to see Tina when she was 42 and poor and absolutely beautiful and again at Camp Nou when she was still fabulous! Will be much missed. As for Tom Jones....another legend. This video great!! Made my day ❤
I never cared for Tom Jones when I was a kid. My mom loved him but I just didn't. Now all these years later, I appreciate him as the great performer he was. And still is.

No this wasn't the private dancer period time. She had just divorce her husband Ike and she was on a circuit getting any kind of job she can get at that time, She was struggling, Ike left her with nothing! Nothing change for her utill 1984. Although she had a lot of hits on her album of 1984, the 1st hit was a song she recorded called "lets stay together" originally done by Al Green, Then everything took off for her. This appearance is in 1978.., She wouldn't find her independent fame until 1984, in Europe then she took off in America.
Can I just say, two legendary performers in their prime, in a world that seemed less focused on substance and more about just having a good, raucous time!
I'm 67. I'm a woman. I'm not gay. But that girl, she got the legs to match her massive talent. What a great duet. No lip syncing here. RIP, Tina. You were the best, and I'm not zooming you !!!!
This is when she started her Solo Career. Best thing she could've done; which is why she was even able to break out into the Huge Rockstar she became after her Huge 80s comeback.
Um....so listen... never heard or seen this version and I grew up always knowing who Tom Jones was but listened to Tina Turner predominantly. Let me just say... I'm about to go down the Tom Jones rabbit whole. Also, his level of swagger...I appreciate it as an adult.

Tom Jones and Tina Turner, We're great together. Tina never Copied anybody, Nobody I mean nobody could ever copy her. I know we were all miss her. Many prayers to You Tina.
Tina Turner. She is blessed with those looks. But what makes her appealing is her genuine kindness and sincerity that comes through when performing or just standing still. My all time Favorite performer.
