Hey Cliff, great reaction as always. He knows there's caucasians in many ghettos in America, but some of the ghettos in Southern California where he lived there is next to none. I only know because I lived in one in San Diego where there were 3 other caucasians and me in tens of thousands. I had to have gang protection to live there, no word of a lie. It caused problems, but I eventually was accepted and formed friendships that I still have 15 years after moving away. The bloods saved my blood from being spilled. I had no idea when I moved there of what I was getting into but I'm still grateful for the experience.

Major labels are most definitely wanting to see him go away. It hurts them for it to be seen that an independent artist can be successful. Tom is their enemy. Not very far fetched to imaging that they would support his end. This is why we say he must be protected.

If you know anything about Tom’s life, he lived in South-Central L.A. where there weren’t any “Caucasians” when he lived there. He’s *not* saying that there are no Caucasians in any ghettos. In fact, he says this in the audio version of this song (if you wanna hear - the audio version has a couple lines that are different than this music video version).

"I'm a savage, randy with the bars" has a double meaning. It not only means what it says, but it's also the former professional wrestler in him paying tribute to "Macho Man" Randy Savage when you flip the words "savage" and "randy" around. One of the things I love about Tom is that he's so intelligent that he sneakily slips wordplay Easter eggs into his lyrics that you won't hear unless you know a lot about his background. RIP "Macho Man" - (November 15, 1952 - May 20, 2011).

I’m catching this late bc I just found Tom’s music about a month ago but when you said “he’s in his own lane like Em was pushing the envelope”, and I would have agreed years ago but Em isn’t about pushing the envelope anymore, it’s like he rides more with the left & censorship & lack of free speech. As far as Tom line of being in the ghetto, and no white ppl, I am sure he meant his actual neighborhood had no additional white folks. I grew up in the ghetto (Durham NC, Austin Ave, Brag Town, FLP) and there was one other white family in one of those locations.
