I'm 58 & I NEVER listened to, or liked, any rap until I first heard Tom a year ago. For years my neighbors only heard Zeppelin when I had the tunes cranked. Now not only do I listen to Tom MacDonald pumped to the sky, so do my neighbors & so does anyone who rides in my car. And I KNOW my neighbors would do anything to get to listen to Zeppelin again. I think I've finally figured out how to hear TMD. First time listening, just shut your mind off. Allow him to paint the pictures for you. Don't try to analyze anything. Just let the imagery and emotion wash over you and enjoy the trip. Second-tenth times you start to pick through the poetry. After you've got a dozen listens under your belt, then you can analyze the technicals. You have to break it down like that because there's just too damn much to get it all in the first few rounds.

This song has been my favorite of Toms since I first heard it, it just goes so hard from the beat to the lyrics to the delivery. Those 8 bars on the house scheme that kicked off the last half is what made me realize he's a rapper rapper, not just a new age gimmick. I criticize him a lot for trolling but fully acknowledge he's both technical and creative, a legit artist. I'm still not joining his cult tho 😂 Edit: That switch from "I" to "We' is underappreciated af. I understand why people are so loyal to him. Are you a mariner? He's been mapping out his goals way before now check out way off he wasn't even sober yet and he says something like he ain't trying to make friends he can do it on his own. Everyone new seems to think Tom only has these last 2 yrs but there's like 6 yrs worth of music out there and although the old stuff isn't sporting as positive messages they are still solid rock out hit in my opinion.
