He's telling his story to deter young people from walking his path.He makes his beats writes his verses gets help from Nova writing his hooks and then the tracks are mixed and mastered by Evan and Nova shoots his videos.

He writes and mixes all his songs. Every word. Every beat. Nova,his gf, records all his videos. Tom used to be an alcoholic and drug addict but he is sober now. He's 31 and canadian.
Tom and Nova are notorious for staying after shows for hours to meet with all the fans, and by all accounts are great down to earth people. Keep going down this Tom journey, you're right about his fans. The #HOGarmy will show up in droves!
Tom is pushing 30. He's battling against his demons (anxiety, depression and alcohol dependence) through his music. It's his therapy. Listening to it is my therapy. He had a mental breakdown in 2016 that had him on his Mama's couch for 9 months. At the end of it, he went full on beast mode. He's not going to put out songs for the masses. He's putting out songs for himself. He uses whatever tools he wants, when he wants, those being humor, satire, sarcasm or gut punching TRUTH. He's amazing. Just don't try to label him. He won't accept it. He's just Tom MacDonald, Bitch. He's an ARTIST. Period.
To understand where he is coming from ... its all in his songs and spoken words: Hangman, Hang on, Not alone, Sober, I dont care. Even "I wish" ... its about his life.
Idk how familiar you are with Tom but def listen to “politically incorrect” it’s basically his anthem. That and “everybody hates me” he doesn’t care if ppl find his words offensive. I highly recommend his songs Sober, and I don't care. You'll get a much better understanding of the things he's been through, and struggled with. Tom writes his songs, makes his own beats, and his girlfriend Nova does all of his videos. She also sings, writes, and raps.
Tom does the beats and vocals, his friend Evan Morgan usually does his final mix/master. If you're curious, he has a RU-vid Channel where he has videos about mixing and mastering stuff for Tom.

He mixes his own songs... I'll raise you "he makes his own beats". He and Nova are both from Canada. She was also a rapper before she met him. (I actually really like her old shit. Rough around the edges, but definitely real. I love Nova's raps! ) They also had a band together (GFBF) which is either pretty hilarious, or serious and uppercut you in the feels. Never underestimate tom macdonald. He's so sure of his abilities, he doesn't even put a "lil" in front of his name... huge supporter of him and Nova!

He came to America from Canada. He was an alcoholic. It nearly destroyed him. He got sober. Had relapse. Got sober. Living in a crap apartment--trying to make music at 28. He was about to give up when Dear Rappers when viral. He does rap, pop. political commentary songs, rock--and everything else.
Hey guys! Awesome reaction. I do the Mixing and Mastering on Tom music. He produces all his own beats; writes all the parts, plays in the keys and guitars, and programs all the drums himself. He records and produces all his vocals himself. He sends me all the files and I do the final Mix and Master for him while he's onto writing and producing the next track. Dude is an absolute monster! I have a few videos on my channel breaking down small mixing elements for some of his songs if you're interested.
Tom makes the beats and writes the songs. His girlfriend shoots the videos and generally directs as well. Other than Evan Morgan, who mixes his music, EVERYTHING is done by the couple. Since Covid (and the fact that his girl has respiratory problems made that an almost insurmountable problem) Tom has built the sets as well. All the videos during the lockdown were done in their house and back yard. Tom's story is too long to tell here, but yes, he's been there and done that. He's not an alcoholic. I say that because he can still have a drink from time to time without going backward. The physical imbalance that makes a true alcoholic means they can't do that. His addictions and the lengths he took them to were psychological. He drank himself almost to death and took too many prescription drugs because of his mental issues (anxiety and depression). His recent (continued) success seems to have helped him to overcome some of that, but when he did a song called 'Famous' and another called 'I Can't Sleep', he was still having trouble in spite of and because of success.
He's totally independent. Nova and one or two buddies help. That's literally it. Apparently "heart emojis" is very blink 182. It is equally amusing. I just dug the song, everyone else said it was blink 182 vibe.
I can relate. I'm 49. Don't give a F about PC shit. Rock bottom is a coffin. I'm trying to dodge that every day. Having said that, I sincerely am glad you youngsters don't understand.
