Great reaction! ❤ Tom is Canadian but has lived in Los Angeles for the past 11 years, 7 with his girlfriend, Nova Rockafeller, also a Canadian and an artist herself. She directs, shoots and edits all his videos. People call him a conscious rapper, but I don't think Tom likes to be labeled. He just pays attention to what's going on and points out the hypocrisy he sees, from both sides. He's a true artist, using his voice to get his message out. Being 💯 independent, he has the freedom to do that. He has no label, no manager, no distributor; no marketing team, he does everything himself from his house, including producing all his own beats, with Nova, his parents, his sister, her husband and a couple of friends as his whole team. He's also getting his dual citizenship and soon will be a Canadian- American if he hasn’t already. For more political style songs, I suggest Brainwashed and Fake Woke. Great reaction. I'm a metalhead, but Tom is one of my 3 favorite artists. One of my favorite things about him is his versatility. He has great "controversial" songs, but that's only about 1/3 of his catalogue. There are tons of other great songs. Don't Look Down, I Wish, Scars, Angels, I Hate Hip Hop, I Don't Care, No Response, Chrome (his latest video), ... And yes, Tom is completely independent. He, his girlfriend Nova and recently his sister and his brother in law do everything from producing the beats, building the sets for the videos, designing merch, etc themselves. This song was my introduction to Tom in late 2020, his image at first was off putting but the lyrics were spot on, within weeks I was watching everything he put out and cheering on this independent every time he dropped a new song. #HOG in the UK

My favorite is Castles. But someone suggested starting with Dear Rappers which blew him up. If you start there and follow his progress from there, you will appreciate him so much more.

When it comes to the writing, producing, directing and promoting, its all done by tom and his longtime girlfriend nova rockafeller, whos also a rapper. Sometimes his sister and brother-in law will help with the video. The point is Tom and nova does everything themselves including sending albums people paid for through the mail.

I finally left the school role 6 years ago because of the constant struggle of being conservative based.I live in Texas and would go to Austin for educational meetings and listen to a bunch of twenty year old pierced up purple hair kids tell us what we needed to do for children and how to educate them.

I „know“ of Tom just for a few months now and damn am I happy you tube suggested him to me 🤣 I think what people like about him his that he is real and relatable. My favorite Tom song is I Don't Care. But he has a ton of non-political tracks! Some examples are Cancelled, I'm Sorry, Dear Slim, The Way I Am (Eminem remix), Ashes (rock), Fighter, etc.

There is a wide range of songs he does from political like the two you have done, to songs about sobriety (sober, withdrawals, church) to more mellow inspirational songs like “fighter” or “scars” even some more typical slightly more aggressive rap songs like “don’t look down” “dear rappers” or “no response” He’s got a wide range of songs that you can pick from.

I think you would like Castles if you want a good non political positive song. He’s also in recovery so Sober and Withdrawals are two songs I know mean a lot to anyone who has either struggled or watched someone struggle through addiction.

I'm here for it. Dude is super talented, his backstory is relatable and despite what the loudest voices / least informed tell you, his "political" songs are only a fraction of his catalog; they just don't work as well for faux rage-clickbait. That said, he also doesn't simply make music for the sake of it and every song he makes has something to say, which seems to anger a lot of Zoomers who don't know how to react to mindless autotuned lyrics over a beat that is designed to pop Xannies to (nevermind the fact that as someone who's been prescribed it in the past, I still can't wrap my head around the concept of taking it and wanting to do anything besides allowing your mind to enjoy tranquility or completely shut down as you doze off...).

Found Tom in 2020, and was a breath of fresh air - that made me think there are other people out there who think rationally and grounded in reality. I was instantly a fan. First song I heard was People So Stupid - that was summer of 2020.

Great reaction, its great to relive these songs from a couple of years ago with new reactions, fresh eyes and to a certain extent; with hindsight. Subscribed! I first heard of Tom through his song Brainwashed, liked the message but found him polarising. Now i love Tom and No Lives Matter was the first song I thought man this guy can make really good music. I look forward to hearing your reactions to some of his non-political songs such as Best Rapper Ever, Dont look down. And more recently with Adam on his new album; The Brave II; Rattlesnakes and Made in China.

The best way to follow Tom’s progression is to start from the beginning and go down the rabbit hole. Start with Dear Rappers and go from there. Although he has more music from before Dear Rappers, that was the track that blew him up!

His new one Superman is a great one for Veteran's Day.

My favourite songs from Tom are actually not his social commentary ones. - Best Rapper Ever - (it's deeper than it sounds) and in my opinion is Nova's best video work. - No Response - he hits back at his detractors and you also get some of his background. - Castles - an early one from him about empathy. - Fighter - uplifting song. Yeah, he's more of a Libertarian, but anything that is not progressive left these days is considered right counter culture. #HOG in the UK

Tom has many non political songs. He is well known for putting his own personal journey from the streets to success and the emotional toll it takes to stay sober. He poors his heart out and reaches people where they're at because he's been there. Listen to Fighter, Best Rapper Ever, Sober, as well as Castles, I Wish, and Angels. I never got into "reaction" videos but stumbled upon your Channel awhile back and I'm absolutely hooked. My favorite are the first Country ones because you hated Country LOL. I think I'm alittle older (38) but grew up on Country but throughout High School in the late 90s early 2000s I was into Hip Hop and R&B and let's be honest they don't make it like that anymore. So I've been back on the Country train for almost 20 years and I must say the lyrics and meaning behind Tom's music is great. Half of my friends growing up were black and there were never any issues. Some joined the Military, some went off to College and some fell off the face of the Earth. I got into Law Enforcement and did 16 years until I couldn't take it anymore. Some of my black friends don't talk to me anymore and some of my white friends don't but the ones that do never made it about race or me being a Police Officer. They were about right and wrong and America being the best Country in the world. Only reason why I quit after 16 years is because the City I worked for went from less than 100k people to 200k people and I don't wanna work for a City that big. I miss the job and some co-workers but I'm much happier now. Keep up the videos because they're great.
