So many skaters that try so hard to do the most imposible tricks these days... after years watching skate videos, my conclusion for me is that the skaters that are worth seeing over and over again are those that pull off tricks like they were ART PIECES. TOM PENNY is probably one of those who are at the top of this very little elite of skaters that has reach such a level of execution and clean style... Is anybody there that notice this in the skate world?
i heard an interview with a euro photog and he was saying Penny relearned all his tricks every time he went skating. And if you look over the years he's got different ways to do s.frontside flips and stuff. He photographed one nollie hardflip ever and its the best on on film. He did a frontside 360 kf perfectly over a pyrimid and he never does another one, seemingly. Thats the fedora hat guys trick but I guess Penny was doing it 1st. Its in "cult of Tom" along with other crazy stuff.
dude thanks for posting all of this shit together is shows penny has ALWAYS kept it real he never changed his skating or clothing style (unlike skaters like chris cole) since he started skating in 1989. good to see footage from 92, 96, and 2010 all in one clip thank you for posting this my boyo. RESPECT and love to TP
Tom PENNY THE BOSS
there are so many skaters out there doing the sickest shit imaginable...yet I still find myself watching this time and time again. i remember seeing him at leigh on sea in the early nighties skating mini like he does @ 2:38...just floating around the coping...so good.
I remember watching him in Redlands and it hit me. You either quit or except you won’t be as good as him ever and just enjoy skating for what it is. It was a harsh eye opener as I thought I was pretty good but then penny happened LOL
it's crazy i started skating in 2000 and that was the era of the first couple sorry videos and menikmati. I didn't really like tom penny's video parts i thought they were okay but not up to par w/ everyone else on the team. Years later i went back through skate history via youtube and saw Penny in his prime- the mid 90's. Boy oh boy what a thing of beauty to see him skate back then. And now i appreciate his latter years skating that much more now that i know he had injuries and other ups and downs in life. It's like whenever u watch Penny skate more recently ur low key hoping to see another glimpse of what he did back in the mid 90's.
Same here as a young skater i didnt appreciate Pennys part as much in menikmati then watched it years later and was blown but alot of the switch skating and his all terrain sort of style. He skates everything including vert
to be honest mute grab is my favorite grab and nobody does it better than TP so sick i never seen that be4 and i thought i had seen all his footage. thanks again boyo
Hes still got it. Hes one of those dudes who wont ever lose it. I just wish he'd tone it down with the super baggy clothes. It kind of hides his style a lil
@bballboarder019 shit was INSANE!!!, but of course nothing's unexpected coming from someone whose calm demeanor and lifestyle is EXACTLY the way he skates.
