what an intriguing concept! i love them both - Blessed Virgin and Tommy. his lyric about kids loving rock n roll like (older folks) love Jesus was true. but i’m an old woman who lives them both as well!

tom dresses so oddly though sometimes. i’d get to a concert and see his outfit and just shake my head - he always looked good despite the headband, the neck scarves, the shirts that didn’t fit well. yeah, the top hat was great but his ensemble in the You Got Lucky video was the best?

We're so fortunate that he still lives in video, and in our hearts. I honestly never knew of Tom Petty until after he died. Hard to believe, but true. Thanks to my son giving this Tablet to me as a Christmas present, I love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I told my son the Tablet was the truly the best present I ever received. It gives me so much pleasure.

Someone else has that nickname & his share of fans but Petty is far superior - my biased opinion.

what’s-his-steen ain’t my boss - but i’d work overtime for Mr. TP! lyrics, music, beat, onstage charm, humor and IMO good-looking - the total man. i love how he guides the band. he always knew what he wanted. miss him so. 😢

yeah the dreads (dreds ?) are odd, IMHO.

Some of their Mudcrutch stuff is on par...maybe better.....Tom wrote those from the soul

Don't like the sound on this French TV production. Not very good and this is the first time I am disappointed with their performance. Maybe it was the TV studio recording....not sure what but their music was just off. I love TP&THB but they were not at their best. Hard to believe. Also, don't think Tom felt connected and even understood by this TV audience....hence, Tom saying semi sarcastically "crepes-suzette" and " parley- vous ???"

Imagine being in that band putting out that sound that vibe and being high seems okay to me. Lets not forget how dedicated they where to the art, science and craft of musicianship. They are true professionals in every sense of the word
