What a storyteller in his songs and a voice that has none to touch. A sense of humor throughout. He was one of a kind. Much loved.

The Cypress Lounge used to be one of my favorite watering holes back in the day in Gainesville. The way he describes how dark it is in there when you walk in out of the Sun is exactly right on!

There are so many versions of how Tom does this song, it’s like everyone is its’ own version, this one was a little more settle and more about the story, and mellowed out, if you look at how he played this song back in the 90’s it has a much different vibe. Not saying I don’t like this version, i just think it’s cool how he keeps mixing it uo trying new things just having fun with it. This is authenticity at its’ finest, and Tom Petty is obviously one to not be afraid of trying new things. By far the best artist to ever exist in my opinion

I loved this one when it came out way back then as I guessed he was talking about the Frontier out by Salt Springs, FL...coulda been the Coral Lounge in Ocala maybe...probably a dozen good candidates in that part of the state. It's great to hear Tom and the band reviving the tune, Hey, Tell me bout Life!!! Awesome. Ya?

Cypress was one of my main hangout in the 70s 80s and 90s. I didn't see many fights there.
