Magnificent. Gloria is a superb classic tune. Tom Petty provides real showman entertainment + a great crowd all pulling together. All having a wonderful time.
ds ago I miss Tom. Despite his success, he was the most humble individuual. I saw about 30 of his concerts (California, New York - Beacon, MSG, Jones Beach). I saw him aged but always give him the best he was able to. RIP.
Awesome rendition of The Man's immortal classic rock song. Time and time again, great artists such as The Doors, Dylan, Bowie, Hendricks, Springfield and the Boss have made Van's song truly one of the greatest hits of our age...
Tommy’s covers are great! Gloria, Hang On Sloopy, I Fought The Law, Something Else, Don’t Bring Me Down, Cry To Me, Take Out Some Insurance, Big Boss Man, Little Bit O Soul, Wild Thing, Carol, Shout, Oh Well, Route 66, I Got A Woman, Needles & Pins, Feel A Whole Lot Better, So You Want To Be A R&R Star, Jaguar And Thunderbird. Ok, those are off the top of my head. Add to the list if you’d like. Something I haven’t heard would be a treat! Yes I’ve heard the Dylan covers. Seen Bob and TP twice. Once at Irvine Meadows and once at the Forum.
Thank you this is just the 2nd cover I’ve heard him do & I love them. Of course I love the ones he wrote as well. I’d have like to see him do Leon’s version of Youngblood.
After all this time I did not know Tom Petty di these live version covers .. that are better than the originals "Gloria" a rock song written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison 1966
I saw the do this on mushrooms one year. It started out so quiet and got louder. I swear I actually thought it was the wind. We were outside and everything.
