@@vccstudents He was only little compared to Paul Bunyan Tom Selleck. In truth, Hillerman was taller than Jennifer Aniston.

I'm a new superfan, I spend lockdown hours exploring many filming locations. The Kamehameha club was just a public picnic area, and Robin Masters' estate was only 3 acres, not 200. lol

@@420FlowerPower Not entirely correct, it was a close friend. With permission for 3 residences to be built. The original house must've been pretty rotten to smash it down. Magnum's boat house is still there but all of the interior scenes were filmed on the old Hawaii 5.O soundstages. I'll go there one day for a dip in the tidal pool wearing a blue Tigers cap.

I recently bought a second version of the series and was surprised to find that they changed the ending to the episode in which Simon and Simon appear in Hawaii trying to help a client while crossing paths with Magnum and his friends. The ending was changed to Higgins capturing a beautiful thief before she flew from Hawaii!

All correct except the Mr. T part. Stephen J. Cannell had written the role of Hannibal Smith with James Coburn in mind, but Coburn wasn't available. After going through a list of several other actors, Peppard was suggested to Cannell, but had quite a reputation against him as being a (by then reformed) alcoholic and very hard to work with. Cannell went with the suggestion, though Peppard was known to be tricky to work with on 'The A-Team' as well, and himself and Mr. T famously didn't get along as Peppard considered himself the star but Mr. T pulled all the publicity, and much of the time later in the series Peppard refused to talk to T off-camera. Mr. T wasn't actually involved in Peppard being cast. ...Okay, so we wasted our childhoods! :)

@@pjgathergood6987 its ok. On getty images their are great shots of peppard filming the dynasty pilot. And forsythe filming the exact same scenes over again !
