I got to know her right before she died. I talked to her on the phone like two months before she passed and we talked for like an hour and she was the cutest sweetest soul/spirit. She prayed with me on the phone and I really needed it that night. it was so awesome. We played phone tag a lot. She told me to call her whenever and I was planning to check on her and then she passed :( She used to hold a group prayer and church service on Friday mornings. A big conference call. So amazing. She was all about GOD and JESUS and she was HILARIOUS too. So funny. I wish more people knew that. I am sooooo thankful to GOD that I was able to meet her before she passed.She is GORGEOUS. Inside and out.

the good news is she never said anything bad about them. Even when she was like 50 years old she never said anything bad about them. She said she was happy Sheila found God or something like that and her old diaries from the 80s she wrote she was concerned for Appolonia when the other girls told her Apples had a drinking problem. She apparently wasn't a catty woman--she made her even more beautiful!
YES! Denise was a class act! She was beautiful inside and outside. Unlike Appolonia who took every opportunity to talk trash about Denise. Appolonia was so jealous of this woman and her relationship with Prince.

As a hetero dude who had a "Top-10" celebrity beauties list, Vanity was one of them. SUCH a tragedy that cocaine became Denise's ultimate demon, and it killed her in the end. But I always thought beneath it all that she was a sweet-hearted woman, but again, she (like many of us) had demons, and Denise unfortunately used cocaine as a way to hide from her demons.

From my experience living in LA for 40+ years & working in music & movies ~~~ the most exquisitely beautiful women are incredibly insecure. What I see in Denise is insecurity which led her to massive drug use & her rock bottom near fatal relationship with junkie Nikki Sixx. She nearly died then turned her life over to HIgher Powers & walked away from showbiz & became a preacher. Denise was amazing. Rest in power gorgeous. You willl never be forgotten.

I had the pleasure of meeting her in Philly. She was a guest minister at our church. Her testimony was beautiful and a wonderful message. She went through a lot on life. After service she and I talked for a good 35 mins. I have to say this...SHE DID NOT LIKE TO BE CALLED VANITY OR BE REFERRED TO AS DENISE MATTHEWS THE SINGER KNOWN AS VANITY. HER LIFE CHANGED AND THATS THE WAY SHE WANTED IT

I had the opportunity to meet her in 1984 and she was exquisite just perfection physically i remember i couldnt stop staring because she was so perfect sometimes a woman can have a beautiful body but not an equal face or vice versa but she was just from head to toe exquisite and sweet 💖
I was so blessed to be able to call her my friend, before she passed. My biggest regret is that I never got the chance to return her last call, to me. 😪 She was a truly beautiful person. I miss her.
If you knew her and you knew her love for Jesus you have what I call a temporary separation you will see her again and I have no doubt she would call you her friend

Even during her time as "Vanity" she loved the Lord. Notice Dave says, "Good Lord!" when he sees her pictures. She responds, "Don't say that, now." It's at 1:59. She was a woman of God even when she did not feel worthy of walking with Him. I am happy she found the way.
it's scary that some celebrities sound so so peaceful in their interviews but when they are older and wiser now , they go on TV and tell us that back then when they did their interviews in the earlier times when they were glamorous they were on drugs , I mean it's just sad and scary.
One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. I grew up in the 80's watching her on tv and in movies. Every time I seen her I was just blown away at how alluring her face was. Flawless perfect features with a sweet personality to match. She should have never gotten mixed up in drugs

She was naturally pretty and no plastic surgery whatsoever! She was so tiny and was okay with it to the point she never felt the need to do any extras or add extras to her body. I will say it was a different time though.
