This is amazing! "Why there's no stopping Tom Waits, everytime I tell him what show we're doing, regular as clockwork, I find a cassette in my mail box." The best thing ever. Thanks Tom...
My favorite Bob Dylan was a DJ. It's amazing he agreed to do so many shows. Bob would sometimes read poetry, and Theme Time was a lesson in music appreciation every week.
Thanks for the Christmas card, the marmalade was out of this world! Yes, it makes sense that these two would communicate via cassette tapes found in mailboxe.
They are both real! As for Mr. Waits, If you can't tell, you're not a real fan. As for Mr, Dylan, If you bought the "Together through life" album, It comes with a sample of "Theme time radio hour" and any moron can hear that's real! Long live both of these great men!
I could not have been clearer about this. This audio comes directly from Bob Dylan's radio show on Sirius. Now maybe Bob's impersonating Tom, but it sounds like Tom to me and I don't think Bob does impressions.
Euchrid Eucrow it’s Tom, I doubt he actually sent a cassette, and as with all of Tom’s stories, his facts are dubious and should be taken with a grain of salt … and a shot of bottom shelf rye. Repeat as needed. Also, the only person on Earth that can do a convincing impression of Tom is Terry Gilliam. ;)
@DapperBrass It's really them. This is from Bob's radio show Theme Time Radio Hour on xm . I'm surprised nobody here seems to know about it. It ran for 3 yrs or more
@keepitwitmine Really? Wow. Didn't know about the show that's for sure. Then again I tend to keep it real old school. I role in a '78 Continental with regular radio and original 8-track deck, I wouldn't know much about the satalite stuff. Much appreciation then for this window into their brains that you've provided us.
Family Guy has a skit in which Bob's and Tom's accents are mocked for being unintelligible. And in fact, I have to strain myself to understand Bob in particular.
That was the funniest thing I've heard in years... including Bob Dylan's speaking voice. What happened? Last time I heard him speak was while watching the 1965 video of 'Don't Look Back'. There's a vague connection to the style here but now it sounds as though he's purposefully doing a 'funny' voice. Is that the case?
elaborate fibbing! i love your creativity. i hear you like to buy unusual objects. i bought a human skeleton. he stands at the living room window. a High Lama X
What's up with the Chinese foot fetish? Let's talk about foot binding when their feet were broken and crushed as women were to be only "ornamental" and it prevented them from running away.
he fckng does not!! shit!! zimmie is pure zimmie. tony bennet did not athing to change my life. these guys have....i could add a few other names, but tony bennet is not oneathem. really not.
Yeah it's entertaining but it's not them. Decent impersonations, but I still say "Dylan" sounds a bit more like an aging Quagmire from Family Guy. Giggidy giggidy.
