Clip from the rewatch of Episode 12: Leech ft. JOHN SCHNEIDER:
Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are joined by Jonathan Kent himself, John Schneider! John joins the guys as they recap Episode #12: Leech. Welling talks about what it was like to play a ‘power-less’ Clark and his confusion of there being two different Ashmores who appeared in Smallville. Rosenbaum remembers uncomfortable Lionel scenes and this final episode with Kelly Brook. Schneider was a treat. John fondly remembers his time on the show that paved the way for superhero shows, while remembering going to bat for Tom with WB, teaching him lessons on and off set, and never getting lost in what the lead character was doing.

It's like what Nathan Fillion was taught and carries with him. The lead sets the tone of the set. Jonathan has the experience to recognize that and the lack of ego to mentor so that Tom sets the tone without having to set the tone. That lack of ego also means he brings everyone else to his level so that he shines that much brighter from their light.

As someone who had untreated (didn't know I had it) severe sleep apnea for a number of years, I'm familiar with how dangerous driving exhausted can be (and how lucky I was to survive long enough to get treated). I am so glad that Tom Schneider got the cast together and stood up for Tom's safety in that circumstance. Kudos to all of them for cutting through the BS and getting people to see and fix the problem.

Because of what John did, Jensen and Jared were able to do the same on SPN. It’s true though, you can’t have your QB driving at night or sometimes pulling over the side of the road to sleep. This should be an initiative and part of the production cost and not a request. Safety first.

@@rolandofgilead43 they had security for her in the studio but her dad was driving her to work at the time. The least they should have done was get someone to carpool with her. It was the decent thing to do. Even from a business point of view can you imagine how people would have reacted if something happened. If these stories got out then. The studio with a show about a young Superman protecting people and this is what these things were happening Honestly, I am disappointed no one was there to get Allison the help she needed before things really went wrong. Kristen and Laura was very nearly in the same waters. As far as I know Kristen joined and Laura was only lucky her time in the show was over and she was moving somewhere else.
@rolandofgilead43
@rolandofgilead43 Год назад
@@jonreese7066 yep she did join but it's really never really clear when she left as fir alison not getting help to get out to take a guess she may have had it that well plus to use tom as an example he didn't hang with her either he did his job than went home to his than wife. And maybe during the time on the show and I have no proof of this so I'm only guessing on my part maybe it wasn't as bad as it later became during the time the show was on? But than I could be wrong on that, as for kirstens stalker yeah they should have done more for example they banded together to get tom a ride to work and home, why not do the same for kirsten? I don't get that logic on why that didn't happen, I dunno maybe her dad said no if she was still living at home at the time

Total respect to John Schneider (who's from my neck of the woods, actually, I went to the same high school he did many years after). I don't feel like there's adults in the room anymore. I'm 45 at this point, and I feel like my parent's generation were the last to value responsibility. If you want to have eyes rolled at you, just speak up when no one's thinking about likely or potential negative outcomes. Or even the other way around, where people are going to panicky lengths to protect against astronomically unlikely outcomes. People scoff at reason when it's inconvenient these days, and it doesn't feel like the "adults" are in charge anymore. (Obviously I'm not saying kids are in charge, just that the modern model of adulthood lacks that particular maturity.) But what John just shared reminds me of what reason, rationale, and responsibility used to feel like back when I was the irresponsible one. I grew up to catch on. Doesn't feel like much of our generation did.
