The Massachusetts sand played its usual role at the 2022 Southwick Motocross, as the countless rollers, ruts, bumps, and holes challenged riders at round six of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. We got time at the end of the day to discuss moments of the day with the 450 Class, including Eli Tomac on his 1-1 win, Chase Sexton's efforts to maintain the point lead, suspension changes for Aaron Plessinger's motorcycle, the return to the 'Wick for Ryan Dungey, and how Alex Martin found out his qualifying time.

I think we will see the big battle between Eli and Chase at the next 2 rounds - but in particular Washougal as Chase was really good there last year... But man Chase has to have big gulp in his throat as to try and hold ET3 back... I mean 1-1 and 1-1 at the last two rounds, ET3 is rolling ✊

I have loved bubba's podcast that gives you insider info about all the variables that go into winning or losing. His breakdown on each race is unmatched. Especially on Eli's performance from race to race. We are finally seeing him getting comfortable enough on his bike outdoors to push that next level we have grown to expect from him in every race. Next race will be good with a track that Sexton will be more comfortable on and Eli is on point ... This has been a good 2 man race for the championship with them and glad it's this close.

@yukonjon5964
@yukonjon5964 2 года назад
@@alondite215 Yes. There has been too much put into the "retire while on top" thing. Look at Dungey, he seems to have regretted it. drop the ego and keep riding for what it is. If guys would just take a year off now and then while not injured, it would refuel them and slow down the burn out. What Chad did showed you can have fun without feeling like you have to win (Bubba!). Even Kenny seems to be trying to stay in it when it's not really working. That's better than retiring and being bored. If guys can stay safe; keep living the dream. Eli is humble enough to do this. wish he would just take a year off to see how it feels to be rested, then keep riding. Sure hate to see him retire completely.

RC was dead-on when he talked about his cornering. I had been talking to my GF about the same thing right before he said it haha. He stays low in corners, and it does that by apexing early. Rather than follow the berm around the corner, he pivots off the berm and rides a straight line to corner exit and it not only saves time in the corner but he carries more speed into the following lane. Eli is just a born racer. Lots of guys can ride a bike fast, but few have the vision and the intuitive sense to find not only the fastest line, but the fastest way through it the way that Eli does.
