Same here. Patton was like a live wire and I loved every second of it but it's almost like Tool fans at large couldn't handle it. Too much movement from the singer, lol.
Do you realize how hard it is to just breathe with one of those things on??? You get short of breathe just wearing them and not talking. He has some amazing lung function there to be able to sing with it on, then sing without it, then put it back on. Most people would pass out. I am not kidding!!

I have listened to plenty of both of the musical artists put at stake here. I am not attacking anyone I am just making an observation that Patton almost seemed jealous. They became one of the biggest rock bands in the world quite fast. I agreed with the fact that Patton does have a very good voice....but only when he uses it. Sure, I have plenty of respect for Patton because he does have a lot of die hard fans, which is a great achievement.
If you have heard Wolfmother and there album, you would know that they are experimental as well...FOR THERE GENRE. It's not like Patton is going from singing opera to heavy metal, and everywhere in between. He is fairly experimental for the type of music he creates, which I can respect. Now you will notice that I haven't attacked anyone or called anyone a "skid". I definitely haven't posted hate. I was just stating my opinion.
I love mike pattons voice he can change it and it will always stay unique but...and i will be hated for this i don't like his songs sometimes i like how he tries to be innovative but i think the less he tries the more awesome it would seem.
@bzagar1 Mike Patton is a genius. Have you listened to his solo album Mondo Cane? How about his work with Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fantomas...etcetera? This song is just but one example of his MANY varied projects. Did you know he composed the score to the movie Crank 2? Who do you like? IF you just listen to mainstream radio and what's "hot" on the charts, then clearly Patton's genius will not resonate with you. Notice I sad "IF."

You literally don't know anything. 90% of what plays on the radio here is the same shit that plays on American radios. Nikki Minage, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Adele, Drake, frikkin Usher and all that crappy stuff. Of course we have rock and other types of stations, but those types or R&B, rap and all that other shit comes from America, and sadly it is in the majority.

i realize that musical taste is subjective and some people may not like this song, i take pride in the fact that i belong to that group of people who think that this performance/song is absolutely FANTASTIC & the epitome of "cool"... i echo the words of one commentary below who stated that he wanted this song to be played at his funeral...
I love the drums at the start!!! And the way the bass kicks in! I'd love to find a song or a loop the same way the drums are at the very start of the video
