Tomb Raider 4 Remaster tease! What's next? 

I want a remaster of Angel of Darkness so bad.

Imagine if they remaaster TR4 and Chronicles, but in the Chronicles they add a few levels where you get tp play as Lara escaping the pyramid she was trapped in in the end of TR4.

If the Remaster sells reasonable well they are going to do at least 4 as they have the tools already in place. For the same reason I don‘t see TROAD getting remastered as it is a different engine.

I really do hope that the "next" was a hint to TR4&5 Remasters as a bundle and Aod seperate to insure Aod gets proper treatment. I've been using a ton of mods created by fans to improve my Aod to my liking over 2 years ago to create a walkthrough (dual pistols, improved movement speed etc you name it) and just imagine what they could do with AoD using all this input and/or involving reborninshadows e.g. in development of an AoD Remaster/Remake (and maybe add to the lost story parts or try to take on the initial AoD trilogy). It would be insane! I really hope they're going to do this. Edit: And YEEES let them bring Konrad in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That man is THE man for Lara models!

A remaster of the AOD specially with a better gameplay and bugs corrections would be the cherry on the cake, got it on PC in 2003 and it was so infuriating to play at the time.

I really do think we will at the very least get a 4 remake, however AOD is THE one which is the black sheep. I would absolutely hit the roof in joy if they remastered AOD as after playing the restoration project mod it elevated the game from a 4/10 to at least an 8.5 out of 10! Theirs so much potential in the game it’s criminal it’s been overlooked for so long! Hopefully Aspyr will remaster another trilogy, I do have a lot of faith in the team to do it justice also embracer have been as you said introduced a resurgence in classic Lara. Tomb raider is in the best hands it’s been in years ever since embracer collected the IP

I’m all in to be honest. I never played Chronicles, but I would absolutely beat it. I hope they will have access to removed content. Particularly, the subplot of the Amazigh woman who founds and rescues Lara from the collapsed pyramid. Re introducing Cut content would also help make Angel of darkness more cohesive. I would love a remaster of the Legend trilogy as well. That might be too soon, though, and Anniversary (my favourite) might feel redundant. Speaking of, thank you for including the Croft Manor music for this video.

They need to add the level editor/creators for TR4 and and TR5 which was missing from the remasters (at least in the console versions anyway)

Fascinating video. I do think that the Last Revelation, Chronicles and Angel of Darknesst should be remade into a trilogy, similarly to how the first 3 games were recently remastered. But not just ported to the new PlayStations with slightly better graphics and more polished mechanics,they should have remakes. They should correct the plethora of bugs and glitches, fix the controls and the camera problems,and overall make the game feel more finished. A trilogy which would make these games shine more and would allay the hate and notorious reputation towards them is absolutely well deserved. I hope this will come into being soon❤

On the Oil Rig in TR2R, if you pause and zoom in on photo mode, the computer screens, it says something about "the voices of the fans have asked for remasters, we should listen to the voices". And I wonder now with the release of the remasters and if they do the others, if this hints at things in the upcoming new game. Like old characters returning. Just random thoughts.

Love your videos and agree with everything in this one. We really want/need an outfit selection feature (with some added costumes, of course). It could be like Legend (before each level starts) or one where you can change the outfit anytime you want during gameplay using the inventory. Besides that and some little details (like the small size of some keys that I'm sure Aspyr is aware by now), I would also add a level select option (like the Legend one, with levels available after you complete them) and an achievements completion list to the game menu, to make it a bit easier for those of us trying to get every one of them. I also adore this Lara model, it's perfect. I'm hopeful for more remasters because they are a great way to keep the fan base engaged between the releases of the AAA games (since those take a long time to make). I think Square Enix understands this (considering how Lara has recently guest appeared in other games/products) and will be willing to make a small investment in, at least, the 4-5 remasters. I can even see a possible Angel of Darkness minimal remake (mostly graphics, like the remasters, but with some tweaks to the controls). I really doubt we will ever see the lost AOD trilogy, unless Square Enix picks it up already mostly finished from fans down the line. A new, easy to use, classic Lara level editor would also be a dream.

Honestly, I think The Last Revelation should've been remastered with the first three, but not Chronicles. We don't talk about Chronicles. Angel of Darkness, however, deserves a remake that should be as originally envisioned back in the 00s. A remaster of The Last Revelation could've set the stage for said remake

I want the next trilogy remastered because I never completed TRLR, barely started TRC and never bought TRAoD, so it will be a nice chance to fix that.

I would pay a full 60 dollars for a 2nd remaster trilogy, my only hope would be they’d bring back Toby, Lara is and will always be his creation and I think if he had the backing of a full studio, he could fix the holes of Angel of Darkness, we deserve a playable version because that game was genuinely amazing when it worked consistently.

I would do anything for a TR4 remaster. 😫 I've been trying to get it to work on pc for quite a while. I would lime to see 5 and 6 get remastered too, of course. Just that 4 is my 2nd favorite from the Core era aside from the 1st game. I've flirted with the idea of emulating it but I might hold back a bit to see if an announcement pops up.

Amazing AOD cosplay

TR4 and TR5 as DLC for TR1-3 Remastered would be great and release it in physical format for PS4 and PS5 and have them together on the blu-ray disc. They use the same source code and the original engine would be a perfect collection in physical format.

Would like to experience the 4th game. The departure of tombs/caves/ruins in 2 and 3 were a huge disappointment for me along side their heavy emphasis on combat with enemies. I watched a review and i found a lot of the locations for this game really interesting.

Angel of darkness definitely needs a remaster it’s definitely needs the attention. I like the direction they were trying to go with the game but it failed due to controls and glitches.

TRC is also confirmed do to a remark from a Dev comment that TRC is also being worked on. So that website that was virtual signaling was literally telling the truth about TRC being worked on then rumor. AoD unfortunately I have no clue yet on that game if it's being worked on or not. We'll have to wait. Note there is no confirmation date to be given nor any accusations on matters unless given by Aspyr in announcements. I am not sponsored.

If anything Angel of Darkness needs to be fixed first before remaster. There was some impressive stuff i liked about it on PC. But it was bottomline rushed and unfinished which sadly tanked CORE DESIGN. And Tomb Raider was put on a halt due to it.

I'm trying to convince them to make remasters of 4-6 by buying all the possible versions of this first remaster trilogy.

Perhaps they put the easter egg there to see how fans would react to it? Although even without it, I think lots of people have been crying for remastering the next three games :D I just hope, if it happens, that it really will be all three - because as some fans mentioned, if on 4 and 5 get remastered together, the chance for getting AoD will drop significantly. We need to bundle up AoD with the others so some people even give it a chance. But AoD is also so beloveed that yes, many fans have been working on fixes, it wouldn't need to be done from scratch!

If they do make a TR The Last Revelation and Chronicles, I really hope they don't replace Lara Croft with the new remastered one. The new remaster looks good but I prefer Lara Croft wearing the leotard, tan shorts, and the pistol straps she wore in those two games 4 & 5.

I hope they reMAKE TR4 or AoD. No cheap remasters anymore. I can't stand this low quality. It's 2024. Now that the TR 1-3 remaster sell well, they have a little financial booster to reMAKE some high quality stuff, but I think it will be used for the new "unified" Croft-main-TR-game. This time hopefully this will be no Lara-Croft-identity-disaster.

2 reasons why I think that the next remaster will only have TR4 and TR5 and not include AoD. Reason 1: If you check GOG, they already have two separate bundles for the old games. TR 1-3 and TR 4-5. AoD is sadly no where to be seen. Reason 2: The Original TombRaider games that were developed by Core Eidos and share the same engine. AoD was build on a new engine, which would mean they would have to port an extra game from scratch. This is just my personal take on it though and I'm hope I'm wrong. Hopefully we'll find out soon :)

Tomb Raider 4 (Last Revelations) and 5 (Chronicles) don't need remasters, they need full on remakes. Revelations goes on for ages, 35 levels, the hub areas are a bit scuffed where you have to backtrack and can get confused because there's no map or that you may be missing a key from a different area and so you have it search for it outside the current location, I had to DRAG my heels to finish that game. Chronicles was fun but it was a mess with the 4th office level there is no more fun and is sheer perseverance of will as you deal with lasers, a borked (non exsistant) stealth system and very obscure stealth and puzzles, like WHO TF looks a crack in the celing and thinks "Ah yes! a vent cover that you have to jump and grab on to in the bathroom". Those 2 games needs a whole refresh and streamlining.

I wish they would port the LAU trilogy to the switch 😢

i hope if they do angel of darkness, that they continue the story as it was meant to be a trilogy. i actually liked the game and felt it had so much more potential. yeah the bugs are kinda annoying but it was such a cool and neat game in my childhood

Tomb raider 4 is a very long game. Hope they can remaster with a different engine. For me it's the real tomb raider because everything takes place in Egypt. They might as well include times bonus level & chronicles.

TR4 is the most likely as it didn't do too bad in sales... Maybe could be released as a DLC of the existing remasters? As for the other 2, that would be more difficult... one can only hope.

I've always felt like a TR4 and 5 remaster was guaranteed because they've already done most of the hard work with this trilogy. They got the PS1 TR framework on modern platforms going so all they'd need to do is the game specific stuff such as textures and models, it'd probably be a lot cheaper and quicker to make than this trilogy. That being said, AOD is a complicated one indeed... But considering some of the changes they've made in the trilogy such as modern controls (despite their issues), which funnily enough feel heavily inspired by AOD, they could definitely make considerable improvements to the game if they wanted to (and the project was greenlit). Just that a lot of people will never forget their first experience with it and honestly, don't think you can blame them. On a side note, I want a legend trilogy remaster eventually as well 😆 Not so much for the graphics but I definitely want bugs fixed, high frame rate support without breaking physics, underworld exclusive DLC and overall availability in different platforms. That, and Legend's "next generation content" was a bit of a mixed bag IMO 😆

Last Revalation is the only TR game left, that needs a remaster, meaning an new coat of paint should be enough, like in case with og trilogy remastered! Everything else released after requires either a hard or a soft reboot...especial AoD! Lol

"Tomb Raider Chronicles" can pretty much be considered the Expansion from the previous game. IMO XP Angel of Darkness is the bigger fish to fry though.

Only do AOD if they rebuild it from scratch and actually finish the game this time, otherwise the original works as well as it can anyway.

Definitely would be awesome to see the remasters of the 4th, 5th game and Angel of Darkness, while i do hear a lot of flaws from the latter game i also know the love it gets and yeah even i would love a remaster for Angel of Darkness as i dig her look there (aand i also seem to like Kurtis too not gonna lie). Hm, though if we ever get the remasters later on- *sneaks in Legend and Underworld remaster teases to the games* nyehehehe 😆. Ok but really not only would i love to see the already mentioned three game remasters but I'd be lying if i said i don't dream of a Legend and Underworld remaster lol, i would really really REALLY love that 😭 ❤ Edit: oh damn, you got troubles with the london levels too?
