The controversial "glitchless but not so glitchless" category is back. A new skip was found and voted to be allowed by the community, it saves around 8 minutes, can you guess where it takes place?

I watch a lot of speed runs. It's like the only thing I use RU-vid for. I watched your old (maybe two years ago?) Tomb Raider Anniversary glitchless run plenty of times which.. not gonna lie, I forget the time so I'll say it was around 1:45. So many people run glitched versions but I am I a much bigger glitchless fan. Anyway, the point is after months I figured you weren't going to try again because I didn't see any updates (glitchless). Then I just so happen to check today and bam! New run for me. That's a long boring to basically say I'm pumped to watch this. Good job, mate. You're awesome at this game.

TRA is one of my fave games of all time I've been getting better and better at speed runs... but watching you play is AMAZING. Def subbed to your channel..

Waoo.. i wonder how many times you've done this. Haha I DONT MISS speedrunning (resident evil series). Doing the same thing over and over again litteraly drove me crazy bro ^^ This is impressive.. Good job. Bien joué mec :)

53:50 idk if it's slower or unreliable, but you can directly jump back to grapple. You have to jump from the upper ledge just one time upward, then jump back and the grapple works everytime.

How is the valley skip considered glitchless? I am not aware of the rules, so maybe you van can explain it to me :) Insane run nevertheless, keep it up

Well, short explanation, it doesn't go against any of the glitches present in the list, which are: Out of Bounds Airwalking Bug Jump Clipping Through Collision Fall Damage Cancel Left Roll/Back Handspring Zipping Jump Floating

and everything you're standing on/jumping on during the skip has collisions, it's just they're not very well done because the developers didn't expect the players to reach these areas

these kind of skips are always controversial anyway, so we had a vote for it on the Tomb Runners discord, and the majority of the community decided that it would be okay for Glitchless (that's usually how we vote on stuff for glitchless)

@@BryNu From an outer perspective thats the only section that feels out of place to be honest. It feels more like an "any" section than a "glitchless" section with the valley skip. Sure the community voted for that, but still feels out of place.

I'm surprised playing at anything other than 60fps is allowed considering not everyone has a compatible monitor to go above that and the game doesn't have a proper frame rate limiter, and most of the time third party limiters aren't allowed except for rare cases like GTA SA

We use a tool that lets us play the game in windowed mode, and the creator of that tool made it so that you can switch to refresh rates higher than 60 even if your monitor doesn't support it. It doesn't matter if your monitor isn't compatible since the refresh rate option of TRA just acts as a frame limiter. So unless you have a bad PC that can't reach 100fps in Anniversary in the first place, you should be good to go.

So basically, Anniversary doesn't have a proper frame rate limiter, so we created our own (inside of the game)
