I've been a Tomb Raider Fan since 1996, I'm so glad that it has lasted so long. Lara Croft is truly one of gaming's most Iconic female characters. I know that this show has been in the making for years, so glad to see it has a release date and hopefully we get a new game with the original Lara and her two Iconic pistols. Excited to see this. Also can't wait for the new season of Castlevania Nocturn in January! Netflix has been on a role with the adult anime.

I noticed they're bringing back some of the more supernatural elements from the games.

Finally, dual pistols. The bow is fine and all but the pistols are what make Lara who she is!

Today, Netflix showed us: new DMC trailer, new Tomb raider trailer, Arcane clip, Cyberpunk s2 teaser, Splinter Cell teaser. Damn, I didn't think 2024-25 would be THAT interesting

Oh I feel like a child again... I'm really excited to see this new Lara adaptation, TR is such an iconic game for me, and I can see tons of references to the old games but also of the new ones. I need to see the transition and evolution of one of my favorite sagas so badly now...

I remember playing the Tomb Raider games on PS4 and I have watched two Lara Croft Tomb Raider movies with Angelina Jolie. But this new Netflix series of Tomb Raider is even better.

Between this, Castlevania and Devil May Cry, they've been doing some good work with video game-to-series adaptations. Here's what I'd like to see: Metroid (exploring Samu's life by switching between time periods; her as a child before and after K2-L, her as a young woman in the military and her as an adult bounty hunter), Mega Man (a more standard sci-fi action show, perhaps inspired by the Archie Comics adaptations) Silent Hill (an anthology series with episodes alternating between adapting the games and original stories) Shantae (just pure wacky action comedy)

So this series merges the flashy James Bond feel of the OG Lara with the dark gritty feel of the Reboot Lara? Nice.

Great Trailer but doesnt change the leaks. It completely changed the origins, theme, back story, sexuality, and focus... One thing will be consistant tho.. Her male side kick will def die LOL

Like... if players actually paid attention to the games they would know this was ALWAYS the direction they were going for. The games told Lara's beginning, she was bound to find the dual pistols "growing up" to be the icon we knew and loved, but instead... most people were too invested in trash talking the new Lara instead of appreciating her journey. Even the devs actually said that it was just a narrative direction, back in 2013, and eventually Lara would find her loving guns. Really happy about this, too bad "fans" will think that they made it happen rioting or something. Players are so naive that aren't really worth of a slow burn character and story fully explored. Bravo to the writers and hurray to the legendary Lara Croft! Every iteration of Lara Croft is equally strong and important!

So is no one else gonna comment on the fact that one of those opening shots looked almost exactly like the temple from Bolivia in TR: legends

Tomb Raider and Mobile Suit Gundam within a week of each other. Wow.

If a studio interests to make movie about an experienced Lara Croft at her prime, Hayley Atwell would be the perfect choice to play her. Back in the day Angelina Jolie movies were like that, she was already a badass tomb raider when we first saw her. I don't want to see another origin story like they did with the reboot.

Part of me is hyped...part of me is worried. I heard there is a lot of character assassination on Lara, making her past out to be negative and she is to reinvent herself for "modern audience" ...if thats how this show is going to go then I will pass. I don't need another series demonizing our lead character and changing them to fit modern LA ideology.
