Just a note about side mirrors on Tomica. ALL Tomica vehicles don't have side mirrors. It's a choice they made as a company for safety reasons. They've made statements on this previously that they avoid any protrusions to reduce the risk of injury.
it's a useless policy when you have big Rear Spoiler sticking out on some of them. The funniest thing about that policy is the absent of side mirrors on TLV lines which is not for little kids.
Never was able to find the hot wheels one, since scalpers took them all. However, during my current trip to Japan I did find the Tomica premium for just about the same price as the hot wheels premium. The only real gripe I have with the Tomica is that the wheels are plastic, no rubber tires. This video did help me out a lot, so thanks for making these and as always, keep it up!
I want to add on, something really important is that in Japan, Tomicas are pretty cheap, but outside they go for a lot more which might make them not as worth it. It was covered in this video, but something to note
Tomica's Lamborghini essenza is so available most of stores have it. Same old lame story for hot wheels as they are always not available due to scalpers.
I disagree with your conclusions, the HW versions is by far the best and I am glad I bought it. Being correct is not at the top of my list, quality and how good it looks is, so the HW is the clear winner to me. Tomica are often over priced for what they are, especially the TLVs, they are a real rip off to me, but the older Tomica TL's were great value for money and also had opening parts(which is a big plus in my book), I do appreciate the close up view of both cars though.
The Hot Wheels casting is wildly inaccurate, so for that reason alone I could never choose it. I can’t say something looks good, if it looks nothing like the real life car. Plus in this scenario the Tomica was the same price just about as the HW
As a former HW collector with thousands, I had to get rid of the majority of my HWs because the proportions are all wrong on a lot of their stuff. I've realized I'm more of a car guy than a toy guy. So, if you're into toys then HW is for you but if you're more about the car and true 1/64 scales and better details, it's best to buy higher end models. Between the two of these in this review, I'd choose tomica for the accuracy, swap out the wheels with better ones and add custom side mirrors to it.
@@quickie817 opinions vary, more people buy HW than anything else, but that does not make them the best, Autoworld are the best, because they are fairly cheap, all metal, real riders and correct dimensions, none of the others compare to them if you look at it objectively. I believe this comparison to be too one sided, but thats my opinion and nobody is right or wrong, its just a hobby not a religion, just buy what you like, but a comparison should be fair and even handed. Its easy to pick fault, when you dont make content yourself!
