The fact that my favourite drama Girl From Nowhere was based on Tomie still gives me goosebumps till this day cause Tomie is one of my favourite mangas by Junji ito 💀
Yep he always left the plot opens for our imagination. He allows us to think about what kind of ending this character will get.., or just letting us wonder WHY. I understand if some people get mad for this but i wish they know that Junji Ito did this to his art on purpose. He's just genius
you gotta be particular type of psychopath to think and make "art" like this!!! no matter what everything is suddenly become horrible brutal, blood and chopping. he loves things like this.
@@jannatulbushra1998The man also loves cats and ice cream 😂 He was inspired by horror manga when he was little, and Tomie in particular was inspired by the death of his classmate. You'd honestly be surprised at how boring the general mind of an artist is. What you hone is the skill to take something mundane as hell and make it say or look like whatever fantastical thing you want it to, through your skillset.

Explanation: The girl with the short hair was asked to take photos of the long hair girl (Tomie) by her crush. (She takes photos and sells them to students at the school)she finds the girl alone and try’s to take photos of her but gets caught by tomie but tomie still lets her do it and sets up a trap so that a teacher would find out. Short hair girl got back the photos to give to her crush (feel bad for her kinda) but while she examines them there is another person or spirit inside her trying to escape.short hair got scared but used it to get her revenge by throwing the photos down from a classroom . Tomie saw the photos and got mad so she ordered two boys to go murder her. They were waiting for her downstairs when tomie appeared in the hallway.Tomie tries to become equals with short hair but short hair Offenes her and she turned into a monster and the boys came upstairs because of the screaming. Then tied her up and cut off her head by accident . Tomie had to spend the night there when she woke up from the noise.She heard the monster growling or smth and got scared but the monster ran down to somewhere it didn’t show in the ep. There's a shorter shorter summary in like the 165th reply so if you don wanna read all this crap , scroll a bit. this explains the whole episode. Explanation : The girl with long black hair is called Tomie , she's sometimes quiet but awfully loved by everyone for her intense beauty. So many boys love her. The girl with the camera is taking photos of people for her 'business' and she secretly makes money out of it without the teachers knowing. Tomie knows about that and wants the camera girl to stop making profit off people's pictures without them knowing and she gives the camera girl a chance to redeem herself by not taking more pictures. Here , the camera girl has to take pictures of Tomie as a request. The person who requested Tomie's pictures is a friend of the camera girl , and he also likes Tomie. The camera girl hides in the bushes to secretly take the pictures. Tomie notices her and agrees with her taking her pictures : She makes the camera girl take alot of pictures of her posing. What the camera girl didn't know was that it was all a trick by Tomie : Tomie knew that the camera girl would come to take pictures of her and called a teacher before her arrival. A teacher came and told her to stop her business. For forgiveness , the camera girl quits the activity and the photo club. The camera girl is jealous of Tomie and feels hatred towards her after being tricked by such person. She prints the normal photos she took of Tomie but then she realizes that the photos aren't normal anymore : They all show sign of a monstrous horrific second head next to her original head. As revenge for tricking her into losing the business , the camera girl comes to school and throws hundred of pictures of the monstrous Tomie into the air for every student to see. What the camera girl doesn't know is that Tomie and the boys who love her are hunting her for what she did. After throwing the prints of Tomie's hideous self , male students are on a hunt to KILL the camera girl. The camera girl hides in the photo club room and her friend (the boy one who previously requested her to take Tomie's picture) tells her to not worry since he's not gonna hurt her. But then , he goes near the camera girl and starts to strangle her and tells her how much he loves Tomie. The camera girl gets a bucket and throws it at the boy , to then run away. Afterwards , the camera girl gets a suspension from school for her disrespect towards Tomie and everything she did. At home , the camera girl gets also shouted by her parents. Anyways , the camera girl feels safe at home , but then her parents announce that they have to go on a vacantion and now the camera girl is left alone at home. She looks out of the window and she sees some male students from her school : they're Tomie 's lovers and are looking for the camera girl. The camera girl hurries to get away and goes to the hallway , but she sees something disturbing : Tomie is at the end of the hallway , she's normal but... how did she get there in the first place? Tomie explains to the camera girl that she just wants to talk but the camera girl says that she's a monster , a hideous horrific monster. Tomie gets an overwhelming feeling and cannot believe that a beautiful girl like her is a horrific monster. She falls to the ground and starts screaming. Tomie's lovers outside hear her screams and rush to the camera's girl room (she lives in an apartment). While watching Tomie in pain, the camera girl sees Tomie covering something with her hands : an eye under her hair. The lovers come in and tie the camera girl to a table and then rush to Tomie who's in pain. Tomie has a second head and tells the boys to cut it off. The boys try hard to cut it off but they cut off both the heads. The boys are in shock and are worried because they're murderers now. They thought of running away but the camera girl saw everything : the camera girl was recording everything just like she was a camera. That meant that there was someone who saw the scene and that could potentially get the boys arrested but the boys are scared of Tomie yet still like her. The cut off head of Tomie screams and tells the boys to burn the head , the boys do as she asks. They take a bag , put the heads in it and burn them. The camera girl , seeing the disfigured head(s) and Tomie's bloody corpse , is traumatized but then she sees Tomie's body growing something out of her neck : another head. The head is so low to her neck and disfigured and bloody. The body with the disgusting head coming out of her neck stands up weirdly and walks to the traumatized and shocked but still awake and scared camera girl but then the body changes directions and gets outside the house. The camera girl cannot believe what she has seen but is happy to have lived. "What is Tomie? " You might ask. She's a monster with alot of clones and lives , almost as infinite. An unending painful number of lives. She's absurdly beautiful and males love her so much that it drives them to kill Tomie. In. Every. Way. But Tomie comes back and then again gets killed in the worst ways. She's a monster in most of her lives , maybe not a monster with two heads but just a human monster who does horrible things. But it always ends with her dying. In one of her deaths, she was dismembered by her class , cut in pieces and her professor showed multiple body parts of her such as intestine , colon, etc. Tomie is cursed. From what I understood : She was taking a photo of the girl then later discovered that on the picture she has anover head (I don't remember the name of it but it's a yokai in japanesse culture) then evryone saw the picture. When she came back home the girl who was taken on the photo tried to explain and she was killed, she was still alive even if they cut her head so she kiddnaped the girl who tooke her on the photo and was about to avenge for reveling her secret.
Tomie has always been one of my favorites out of the Junji Ito series! She's so scary but so very pretty at the same time!!! It's amazing and her backstory is pretty sad, too!
She gets killed multiple times for her beauty and she comes back to life again.. Isn't it lovely? -not exactly for her beauty. She's killed in multiple episodes by her lovers, everytime she dies.. She comes back! The anime have less details and does comprehend all of the episodes so you should read the manga! ( the creator hates he's own anime because of the less details and the budget)
