True story; one day at work, our field cell phone rang and the dude at the other end asked for Dave. I of course said, "Dave's not here." He comes back with "very funny, let me talk to Dave." I said, there is no Dave here, I think you have the wrong number (which was true since nobody had that number). The dude finally got it the second time around. Meanwhile, my co-worker who overheard everything, is laughing so hard he is crying and blowing snot out of his nose. A timeless classic.
My friend used to do this bit on his brother's friends when they called the house. "Can I talk to Wayne?" "Who is this?" "Neal." "Neal's not here!" ( "mom, he's doing it again!") LOL
Look up "ear ache my eye." Its on the same album if memory serves. Gettin ready togo to school and both gags were on the radio that morn. I laughed so hard. Only time I was late for school.
"Dave" is on the debut "Cheech & Chong" album. "Earache My Eye" is on their fourth album "Cheech & Chong Wedding Album" I bet your dad made it clear you were late by storming into your room: "I SAID TURN THAT THING DOWN AND GET READY FOR SCHOOL!"
When C&C did their see the stars before they die tour. I bought 5 tickets 4 for 2 of my friends plus their wives all next to each other. With 1 seat behind them for me. I got there early found my spot then went and hid some place else. They get there sit down and they're looking around for me. They're like where the fuck is Dave. The show starts they are now interested in the show so I go and sit behind them. Without them noticing and I wait. I knew the Dave's not here line was going to be used. So about 10 minutes in Tommy is talking about his bong bust and the DEA knocking at the door. What does Tommy say. Yep Dave's not here. I grab my friends by the shoulders and go "Yeah I'm here". SHOCKED the hell out of them all.
I don't know if he's trying to be a "reporter" by taking notes, or what, but it's being recorded man, enjoy the one in a lifetime opportunity to hang out with and maybe even get to know such a man like this even just a little. You missed your chance to (I assume) look intelligent.

I feel old . Im only 50 I use this refrenence when I knock on a door to be let in to a secured area at work. The youngins did not get it. I felt stupid lol
