Really didn't appreciate the band when I was young. Now that I'm in my mid 50's I can listen and appreciate the pure sound of Boston. This band gives us so much. They paved the way for so many. Keep on rockin, we will keep listening.
Yes, that's where they met and did such a good job and I'm really glad to see them land with Tommy who seems to be a lovely guy from what I've heard in interviews.@@bradlitchford476
He's got the guitarist from Dennis DeYoung's band (ex-STYX)... August Zadra (Tommy Shaw lookalike...) and Jimmy Leahey (James "JY" Young lookalike...)!!!
🎸🙋♀️I’ve played music all my life & I wouldn’t wear anything close to that on stage. Outfit doesn’t match Boston’s sophisticated music. I’m glad you said it.
Before Tom Scholz takes Boston back out on the road again, he needs to contact "Mike Masse" found here on RU-vid to front the band instead of this Tommy character. If you think Tommy can sing Brad Delp's parts, just wait till you hear this Masse guy literally nail Brad to a tee. I mean EVERY high note Brad every sang is duplicated exactly as he used to sing them. The guy is amazing, PLUS he is one Hell of an acoustic guitar player as well.
@@lukebandy516 As the saying goes, everyone has their opinion, but the point that I am trying to get across is that Masse is much BETTER than Tommy DeCarlo. I seen Boston with DeCarlo and also some female singer and I felt like I was seeing some Boston Tribute band. It was JUST ok. I remember back in the early 80's Boston literally blew your face off. Now they are LAME in comparison. I feel that with Masse they would at least be a step in the right direction of their hey days.
@@MartinCallahan-rr7my I get it, you adore Tommy. Everyone has their opinion. I actually saw Tommy with Boston back in 2019 and though he was OK, he just didn't impress me like Brad Delp. However, when I heard this Masse guy, he had the same character and tonal quality that Delp possessed, able to hit notes that didn't sound falsetto, PLUS he somewhat resembles Delp. So for an ALL AROUND stand in for Brad Delp, I think Masse would be the BEST fit. Mind you I never said Tommy sucked. He's just not the best choice for filling Brad's shoes.
@@markbaumbusch2473 At this point Boston is a tribute band. The only remaining original member is Tom Scholz who has got to be 75yrs old by now. David Victor, Fran Cosmo, David Sikes, and even Michael Sweet has sang lead. I think its time for this karaoke show to retire.
Every song from the first two albums and Tommy wasn't a part of any of it. Came in many years later when Brads voice was needing a little rest. The challenges of singing Brads vocals ruined Tommy's pipes and he didn't last long and is now living off the legend of Boston. It was fun to hear the tunes and reminisce.
Tommy Decarlo was Tom Scholz' choice after Brads' passing. Tommy is the closest to Brad without being Brad. Tommy is officially still the lead singer for Boston. I suspect the road is a little ruff for Tom S. right now.
I don't know what you mean that singing Brad's vocals ruined Tommy's pipes. There aren't many recordings of Tommy before he joined Boston, but he became a very consistent live singer once he did. If you mean that he didn't hit the same high notes he hit in his studio tracks before joining Boston, well Brad essentially never did either. Tommy Decarlo sounded better in some ways these past couple of years than he ever did before though imho.
