I do think people tend to forget JJ very deliberately plays up his ego before fights to spook people cus it has worked in the past with other people. However difference is Tommy is far too used to face-offs as a seasoned fighter and I think JJ forgot that due to lack of experience with the genuine fighters, its not that JJ genuinely has an ego this big its more that the mindset he portrays will freak his opponent out and put him in the right headspace himself if he believes it. Again though I don't think he considered how ineffective this strategy would be with Tommy. Trying to rattle someone with pure confidence only works if your opponent lacks more than you and its clear Tommy is extremely confident here unfortunately for KSI.

JJ’s talking seemed rather disjointed and absurd here, like the conversation about power when Tommy says he’s sparred Tyson… I also don’t think the Furys have yes men in their camp. Check any of Shane’s interviews and look into that man himself too as an example. Big John is also that necessary mad bastard. If I also understand correctly, Tommy was preparing for his child while training for Jake. Now he can be fully committed to what he has to do. I also don’t think JJ’s style is as elusive as it’s hyped up to be. Tommy could just spar some MMA guys to get a feel for it.
