This version is really a cover of George Donaldson's version (with Celtic Thunder). You can find several recordings of that, from in or about 2009, before George passed away. I think Tommy Johansson did a REALLY great job of paying a bit of homage to George, in this version that he did so very well. Thanks for reacting. I'd definitely be interested in hearing/seeing you react to one of the George Donaldson offerings of the song. 😀

In Scotland, this is our unofficial national anthem lol (along with Flower of Scotland) 😂 Every party or wedding i have ever been in to in my life has ended with this song and everyone jumping and singing along! Made me so happy and excited to see that Tommy had covered this 😁😂

This song makes me nothing more than absolutely happy! Tommy you are a real genius. Everything turns to gold. The update is excactly what this song needed, and he did in in a awesome perfect way. By the way, the new guitar is wooooooow, just wow! The chorus at the end.. I love it!!

I'm Irish and this song is played at every wedding and party, it's a classic, you mentioned Terry Fox I remember watching a movie about him, he was a very inspiring man.

He made it listenable, but not even Tommy can save this song for me. It gave me nightmares back in the day, and I just wanted to punch those goofy bobbing faces on the TV screen when the video would come on. And it's still haunting me, because the "classic rock" station I have to listen to at work plays this about every day.
