This is one of my favourite covers of this song, Tommy has an amazing range. Another one of my favourites is Nighwish End Of An Era version with Tarja and Marko

I agree with what you are saying ..and Tommy is doing a stellar job here!!! ..but this is still not one of my favorite top songs .. but it has only to to with personal preference when it comes to Tommy (I do like it in other artists ..but he is just so amazing doing some other songs that they go first) ..If I listened through his catalogue (again ) for the single purpose to find the best ..well then the list might look a bit different But this is the list to the once I return to (on his channel) if not thinking: Number one : The light 20 years celebration true tributes: 18 and a life Who wants to live forever Alone I'll never let you go I'm still stading Over the hills and far away thunder rising Sign of times Eagels fly free Aces high Headless cross Blinding lights Call me Empty rooms Loner Tell no TALES 1000 LOVERS Emerald Back to the wild frontiers metal upgrades: Basket case Anti hero Nuclear attack ( don't know if it is a metal upgrade but it its definiltaley an upgrade ..thats for sure) Show me the meaning of being lonely Lay or your love on me The winner takes it all the odds and ends: Angels we have heard on high.... O helga natt Allt jag önskar mig It's the most wonderful time of the year Seven pillars of wisdom Training montage Rocky IV I want out (Granskogerz) Amazing horse Into the unkown (evil farytale) Swedish pagans ..but then again ..I listen to them all and all is good ..these are just the ones that get a little more love from me !!!!

You see you dont have to be a girl to sing the high notes at the end, there is a few guys who can do it and Tommy is one of them. Have a fun 4 of July!

Happy 4th july!!! 🥳 Since you say you don't know 'the Phantom of the Opera' her's an introduction. The phantom is not a real ghost but a man called Erik. He's deformed and looks like a living corpse, but is a genius in music, "magic" tricks, ventroquility.. the list goes on. He's had an adventerous life, but is tired of that, and is now hiding in the cellar of Opera Garnier - because he don't want anyone to see his disfigured face. He falls in love with Christine, a beautiful operasinger who is depressed over her fathers death. The depression makes her sing like a robot without feelings. Erik tricks her into belive that he is an angel of music sent from her father. He gives her singing lessons and manages to wake Christine to life again. So to speak. She now triumphs as a singer and all could be well - if it weren't for Christines love for the young nobleman Raoul. Blinded by jealousy, Erik kidnappes Christine and tries to force her into marriage. If she says "no" he will blow up the entire operahouse! Christine tries to commit suicide but in the end is free to go. Because in her own misery she also took pity to Erik. She cries for the pain he has experienced in life. She gives him a kiss on the forehead - something not even his own mother has done. That crushes Erik with guilt over how he treated Christine. So she's allowed to leave. Erik himself dies of a broken heart some time later.

@@grumpyoldguyreacts It was originally a book by Gaston Leroux. The book has been adapted to movies several times during the years. The first version was a silent movie from 1925. What really made "the Phantom" famous is of course Andrew Lloyd-Webbers musical. The musical was adapted to a movie 2004. Unfortunatly all renditions of the story omitts Eriks doing the right thing at the end (like he does in the book). Because in a horror movie the villain should be bad, bad, bad and have no emotional depth. Only the musical follows the book in that direction. They thought it was important.

@@pernillaeriksson8594 Was he from France he who wrote the book about The phantom Erik, strangely enough I always thought it was Eric or am I too Americanized?

@@user-ud8cm1fr6l Author Gaston Leroux was french. Eriks name has a scandinavian spelling. Christine actually asks him about that, is he a scandinavian (since his name indicates that). He answers that he just took the name by a coincident. We never know what coincidence it was that made him decide on the name 'Erik.' However his name means 'lone ruler'. Very fitting name for a person who isolates himself and rules his own kingdom underground. He is in matter of fact from Rouen. So no scandinavian heritage
