I know your mostly into the metal, rock, etc...reactions but watching your Herman Li interview you talked about loving music that makes you feel. I suggest you introduce yourself to Sohyang. I'm a 58yo rock fan weened on Zep, Floyd, etc...but I've never in my life heard a female singer like Sohyang. If you do I suggest you start with her cover of Bridge Over Troubled Waters. She's the most famous unfamous vocalist in the world.
@@JustJenRx Yes but why not try or be happy for some information? When Americans speak French or Italian they do their best to say it perfect to avoid that people laugh at them, but with Scandinavian/Nordic language it don't matter at all obviously.
@@birrextio6544 English (American English even more so) is less phonetic as Swedish and pronounce the suffix -son in a name with a silent O (sort of). To us Swedes it sounds like "Johan-sen" but it's closer to "Johan-sn". They have plenty of people with the last name suffix -son in USA, they just pronounce it differently. Modern English has much in common with the romance languages like French, Spanish and Italian, especially French. Just look at some of the words and how they're pronounced (thought, though, tough). How would you pronounce them phonetically in Swedish? Don't be too hard on our American friends.
@@Battouga Your explanation is good and I'm not too hard I hope 🙂 But why is it accepted to butcher Scandinavian languages but never French for example? If someone pronounce a French wine wrong, someone else will for sure correct it. And English has not only much in common with French, hundreds of words they use daily comes from Scandinavia so they can actually say "son" some times. The irony here is that the word "son" origin from about the same place where Floor comes from.
@@birrextio6544 Not entirely sure, perhaps Scandinavians are generally more accepting of mispronunciations and incorrect grammar and have no problem switching to English if we feel it's necessary to bridge the language barrier. But I know that foreigners who wants to learn our langauge hate that. I only try to correct/help people pronounce Å, Ä and Ö e.g. Sabaton basist *Pär* where 100% say Par but I try to mention that's his name is pronounced like *pear* or *pair* in English. Can get confusing telling English speaking people that the names *Pär* and *Per* are pronounced the same. Yeah modern English is basically a mix of Romance (mainly French), old English and west Germanic (mainly west but some north Germanic too from old Norse).
