I would recommend his cover of Stad i ljus. The original was sung by Tommy Körberg in Eurovision 1988. It has since then become the song that plays at closing time and that everyone sings along to aka a swedish Classic. No words, made me emotional seeing some of her funeral today. I am an American, but today I am a Brit. This was so beautiful, May you Rest In Peace Queen. Tommy has an amazing voice with great passion, what a joy to listen to him. Thank u for reacting Tauri, you are a sweetheart.
Anything Tommy lends his voice to turns to gold. He's just an amazing musician all in all - singer, composer and musician. As a "solo RU-vidr", with his band Majestica and with Sabaton. One of Sweden's best artists at the moment. And this tribute to Queen Elisabeth II was such a beautiful thing to do.
Hi Tauri before I get to Tommy, your beautiful words concerning QE2 I am not ashamed that they made me cry, and she was a constant, stable person for all. Now Tommy what an attention to detail but by his voice. His version to me honoured the song and I listened to more than once just taking what a singer he is and it's controlled power. I don't really like the tempo being pushed compared to the original. In my opinion, what makes the original so great and triumphant, is the slow tempo in the vocal phrases. Here, it is rushed and i think it takes the melancoly away. Don't get me wrong i love Tomm'ys voice and most of his cover, but here, it doesn't hit home.
