definitely miming but who cares! Takes me back to the Prince Edward Theatre !! Incredible chemistry. Elaine used to cry real tears when performing this musical with Tommy and I went 6 times......LOVE it so much.
Um, what was up with that crowd? Tommy and Elaine just gave them everything; blood, sweat, tears, epic vocals, epic emotion, their whole lives..........and THAT'S the reaction they get?
Just beautifully sung and acted by both. Tommy owns this part in perpetuity. I have to close my eyes and try to forget this was the era of the ubiquitous European lip-sync. Nice kiss at the end - sadly missing in the concert performances where they were stuck at podiums miles from each other…the heat dissipating in the distance between them….
I saw them in concert performing this and other CHESS songs in 90's in Auckland. NZ. I shall never forget. Korberg has a magnificent voice. Love them both.
Lipsynch possibly because 'Sondagsoppet' producers could not afford/accommodate the London Symphony Orchestra and The Ambrosian Singers - despite this, truly masterful performances by superb artists. (I don't think the 'counter'' works - I have played this video numerous times and the count remains.................7790)
The show 'Open Sundays' (Söndagsöppet) only did play-back performances no matter who entered the stage. Boy did I wish for at least some sing-back for this show, but never happened that I'm aware.
Nah, it's pretty clearly taken off the concept album- you can even hear the cut when they switch from the first part of the song to the final post-"Story of Chess" chorus. No discredit to them, obviously, but yeah, this is lip-synching.
Sorry folks Elaine does her best and a great effort but the Swedish duo Tommy and Helen Sjoholm still the definitive version ( Du och jag ). Wonderful song from the ABBA boys and Tim Rice.
