So glad to see Steve-O doing so well these last few years. He was so bad with everything in the mid 2000’s and it’s great to see him on top again. Tommy Lee was and still is one of my heroes dude. Yes he does some dumb shit with his kids and what not but who didn’t wanna be tommy lee in the 90’s?
You can't be whatever you want. These are just examples of one in a million who accomished what they wanted. Most people who want to achieve a huge dream like becoming insanely wealthy or becoming famous rockstar aren't going to make it no matter how hard they try and how much passion they have. It is just a combination of the luck of the draw, connections you have, your genetics, etc.
@Joe Momma I mean of course he is, he couldn't even remember that Steve-O told him he was 13 when they met just 2 minutes ago But hearing that looks like it made Steve-O's day so it is what it is
I think Tommy legit remembers it like oversll, but not details. Lol. Only reason I say that is because back when Steve O was still doing drugs, there's a video of them sitting on like a couch partying talking about this same story. It's on youtube. I'll post the link.
I can't find the original but here, Steve O talks about it here and the clip I'm talking about is at 1:20 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gt5AMdopAVE.html
This is insanely heartwarming, fuck. Meeting a hero when youre a kid and having someone be cool is a next-level feeling. My experience like that was with Ben Folds and the Madden brothers from good charlotte, not the "coolest" per se but definitely sweet at the time.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet Pete best at a gig and Joey belladonna at the supermarket who were both very nice to me. The best experience I’ve had is I met and jammed twice with Jason newsted And he was a super cool and kind guy. Got to play drums twice for about two hours with a real rockstar. Even if I didn’t go anywhere it was still a very fulfilling experience as a musician
I love these stories because I grew up in the 80’s as well. I know Tommy won’t read these, but if he does, I went to his 30th birthday party at the el conejo lanes bowling alley in I think Thousand Oaks. I was a young deputy sheriff and my work mate grew up with heather locklears sister. He was friends with the sisters husband who intern was friends with the group. It kinda sucked because Vince Neil had just left the band but Nikki and Mick were there. I still have a picture of Heather and I. It was crazy. I remember when they arrived, there was like 20 shots of jack Daniels and we were just taking shot after shot after shot. So when Tommy says that no one could out party these dudes, he’s spot on! I saw it firsthand. I have a glow in the dark skull that has all the band members signature on it. It was decoration for his party. It was a very memorable night. Tommy was such a cool guy, I’m so lucky that I got to party with him at least once.
That's my thoughts exactly, there's no way Tommy remembers but I think it's cool as hell that he is either straight up lying to old Steve-O or loves Steve-O so much that he has convinced himself he remembers. Then again I remember weird stuff from a very long time ago or weird stuff from being way too wasted Etc; so I don't know if I 100% do not believe him because there's always a chance I suppose. Love ya Stevie I legitimately do man, been a fan of yours for a very damn long time. Im glad you're happy finally.
Nah you'd be surprised what fans artists remember, especially when its such a crazy case like that. Just because Tommy has infinitely partied doesn't mean he wouldn't remember something like that, especially when reminded. ESPECIALLY if there's a picture floating around.
@@gavinfitzhugh2697 Depends on the person but I had one of my heroes I ran into years later called me by my first name and remembered the exact moment he last interacted with me. You'd be surprised!
Tommy good for you bro , good to see Steve O and Tommy doing well in the late years of life. Love this podcast , keep ‘em coming Steve O from a huge fan …NO Cap I’m called Steve O-2 cuz my name is Steve Olsen , friends called me Steve O wear it with a badge of honour. I was lil bit off the chain too , huge fan . Steve O has the craziest stories ever, what an incredible life you lived bro. I just eat this content up like crazy .
I loved this interview! And I loved how Tommy even opened up about his relationship with his son. Glad they are getting along. I wish Steve-o would have touched MORE on METHODS OF MAYHEM. I dont care what anyone says! I loved that time and that CD 💿 Good memories there for sure
A couple of my friends met Steve-O In Kokomo, Indiana a couple years back and it blows because I was supposed to be with them but got called into work 😭😭😭
I actually thought of that but if I was in the 80s I could’ve done it, I think it’s Metallica or something that literally have the old managements number on the back of record cover ahahah
It's not the same type of band but on the pix with Steve O, Tommy Lee's face reminds me the singer from the band from Italy, who won Eurovision this year (don't remember the name rn). Maybe TL is one of his inspiration too or something. He is just smaller than him, but otherwise, I think they got some physical similarities. Edit : that makes me wonder, and Steve O would certainly know cause it looks like he knows everything about him and The Crüe ;) : Was TL in Italy 20 years ago? Cause the singer is maybe an other kids of his ^^
For the peoppe saying tommy is lying and doesn’t Remeber meeting him Think about it How many kids call your tour manager to meet you back stage? Probably literally only one Of course he’s gonna Remeber that kid over any other kid cause it’s such an abnormal experience
It's interesting that steve-o was doing projects about Motley Crue as a kid. I remember doing several school projects on Steve-O and a few on Jackass in the early 2000s! The teachers were not stoked lol
Thinking back, I also remember deeply searching the internet for celebrity phone numbers and Knoxville and steve O were two of them. Unfortunately I never got through tho
