I remember giving a pitch like this when I was in elementary school, promising Nintendos in school if I was voted as class president or whatever, just talking out of my butt and promising things I couldn't deliver.
Well, I might release some games on the Amico in the future... The fact that you help the developpers from A to Z is freaking awesome ! Excellent job Mr. Tallarico ! Also, have you a release date for European release ? I'll be happy to be a part of the first owners of the system !
except this was a lie.. i know because i submitted a few games to them... they took 8 months to get back to me... and then just said no without any mention of helping my projects.. i should point out that i've known Phil Adam for decades.. and he liked one of my games so well at one point he and i had a Kickstarter page to get funding... so not like my games were rejected due to quality... they offered no help along any lines... and kept stringing me along until it was obvious something was wrong with the company...
Fun simple games? I'm all for that but, when the Intellivision 1st came out it was marketed as something far more complex and advanced than say the Atari 2600.
You know... despite being friends with Tommy for many years, I still haven’t ridden in his Ferrari(s)... So while I may have a lot more insider info on Amico than you, you have me beat there, man! 😉
QVC?! I'm sold. Folks can laugh, but you can grab great bundles (with craploads of accessories and extras) off QVC. And frankly, I would love (and totally watch) a live presentation with Tommy, especially if he "duets" with my man Bret Hamilton (QVC's resident gamer and tech expert). Great interview. I would want this to succeed, whether I cared anything about gaming or not, just based off how excited and passionate Tommy is for the system. And offering Intellivision's services to aspiring developers is a great way to sow seed for great talent and games. This thing looks better and better every time I see it.
The Amico take on funding/supporting developers is so refreshing and cool. It is hard for indies to stand out in crowded marketplaces and to get the funding & resources they need - so this a game changer. I am betting there will be some super popular game development house in the late 2020s that literally spring out of the Amico incubator.
This is the correct way to do it!! I have always said to myself why are console manufactures charging developers to make games for their console? e.g. “I am making a game for your system and your charging me to make a game for your system??” e.g. “I will cater food for your party and your charging me to make food for your party??.. surely it should be the other way round!!.. Many just follow the crowd without really thinking about the bigger picture. The "Amico" is going about things the correct way and this alone should speak louder than words.
I'm really looking forward to the Amico since fair amount of my gaming is retro & indie titles on my Switch. The best interview I seen with Tommy about the Amico any chance for a part 2?

I love how pumped Tommy sounds for this thing. And I love the Amico design. It seems it stays true to the Intellivision physics. I hope it will use throwback tactics where applicable to tickle the nostalgia factor even more. Gonna be a fun console to explore!

Tommy sounds passionate... He definitely believes what he is saying, I don’t in anyway smell a scam, I just am not sold here, passion doesn’t sell a product and I am not convinced that his company can actually accomplish their dev road map. It doesn’t sound sustainable. I will hold off on making a conclusion about the control, because he is right about the WII. I see more coming from this then the atari vcs for sure, but everything from tommy here is marketing speak, some of it not that dissimilar from the atari VCS. I guess when it comes down to it, marketing speech will never sell me, I need to see the games. You know the old saying either put up or shut up, and marketing speech alone doesn’t cut it. In the end where is all this money coming from?
Venture capitalists Tommy Tallarico and Intellivision was one of 8 companies out of I want to say 850 companies that applied that got to give a presentation to a room full of investment companies and Intellivision won the people choice award from the group for the business plan & project most likely to succeed
@@AthosJosue uhh, yup sure the heck was.. and also showed us the real Tommy, he really was a showman.. everything about him turned out to be an act in the end.. fake credits, faked awards.. the most oddball behavior.. I guess give anyone enough rope and eventuality they will hang themselves
One thing that just really impresses me about Intellivision Amico is you can tell by how well every aspect of the system they talk about from game development, to controllers, to financing you can see the passion and you can tell that Intellivision is definitely taking advantage of the 600 plus years of video game industry experience to create a unique experience at every level
It has the potential to be a game changer in the gaming world. Also it feels like they are following suit with Nintendo with the Wii. What I mean is they are aiming for the casuals, the families and the smaller indie devs in the community, witch is great. I wish this the best of luck with it. I can't wait to get my hands and try it out for myself.
I'm watching every RU-vid interview that Tommy Tollerico is doing and i can't wait for the Intellivision amico to come out on October 10th 2020! I never had a intellivision i had a Atari 2600. Heard of it but never had a chance to have it. Although ive heard of some of the games that were on it But this time around i get to experience intellivision.
I think it's a big mistake not to at least have a normal controller to give players access to huge games like Fortnite. That'd be a huge selling bonus. Also, never get an opinion from a person who thinks you're the creator of something--You'll almost never get an honest opinion.
