I see that you've said you're just a "tinkerer." But bro, you're correctly diagnosing every issue on a nearly unobtainable gun lol. Then, you're replacing and fabricating working parts for most modern pdw on the planet 😂😂 Bravo brother lol. Give yourself some credit.

It's a brand new gun made from scratch by one dude. You can't expect something like this to not have teething pains upon release, it's completely unreasonable. As long as Tommy is fixing the guns, that's what's important.

@@Conan361 If you're talking about a big company like Sig, Colt or even PSA, that's a realistic expectation. However, this one dude is building a gun everyone and their brother has been lusting for, for decades. It's just him in his small shop, there is no massive infrastructure for him to run full cycle of life testing on these. Most people went into this knowing that they would be test dummies to iron the kinks out. It was the same way with his own G36 versions. Tommy has always taken care of problems with his guns, there's no reason not to believe that he will get everything ironed out and working, in fact most of the people I've seen had guns that were broken now has them up and running. People need to be happy someone is making an unobtanium gun, and if you don't want to deal with initial problems just wait to buy the gun, or you can just send yours back till they get fixed, there will be a few hundred people that would happily take it. Tommy may have a short fuse and rub people the wrong way, but he's always stood behind his product and made things right.

@@mountedpatrolman exactly. I don’t know if I’ll buy one but you gotta cut him some slack. He’s doing something that no one else has done. Give him time, he is still working on the t7 and sorting out the issues. Very soon we’ll have an extremely dependable clone that is actually obtainable. Cut him some slack, if you don’t want to buy one until the issues are sorted out then don’t. So tired of the whining and moaning from people

Great review pretty damn objective and thats missing from youtube reviews. Love what Tommy does and think its cool service but everyone needs to remember buying a 1st gen anything or preordering anything youre asking for issues and it is not an HK no matter how much you pay. I think honestly HK USA should partner with him and let him run a "special products" division like Andreas Preuninger at Porsche who runs their GT division. They could make money hand over fist and keep the HK fans happy everyone would win.

The work that you've done is really excellent work. In a perfect world, these modifications would not have needed to be done on a gun that is close to 5-6K. I've had to do finish work on some PSA uppers, but it's easier to not be mad about some machine cleanup when it's a 180 dollar upper.

@techspy2008 any advice on removing the piston? Also have you given any thought to making another piston, or one of the other custom parts for someone interested in buying them?
@WVGunsNGoats
@WVGunsNGoats 2 месяца назад
Hey question for you, are you noticing any kind of cratering on your primers? I have seen it on multiple T7’s and am trying to collect info to see if theres a tolerance issue on the bolts tommy is using. I know you cant really respond with pictures here, but i am interested to see how many of them do. Its good to see these guns running, but the normal user doesnt have the ability to machine their own parts, if the piston is mushrooming, it sounds like it wasnt hardened properly to withstand that.

I feel like your optic solution is really bad. The reticle height on that optic is about two of your hand widths above the bore. That type of mounting solution is meant for weapons like the m4 where their is not much rail height over bore, not the mp7 where the barrel is way far away from the rail

I’ve always wanted an mp7 and a honey badger I own a honey badger now it’s the highest quality firearm I’ve ever handled and it runs flawlessly, the mp7 will never come to the market I’ll never own it, not buying a clone that doesn’t work and I’m not rich I’m not forking over an arm and a leg for the ammo that’s almost unobtanium psa is coming out with the x5.7 I’ll probably snag one of those although overpriced 5.7 can actually be found and is pretty readily available where I’m at what a shame, I might consider the t7 10 years down the road when and if they fix it and only if ammo starts to exist for it
@techspy2008

I was actually suprised at how available the 4.6 ammo is. I have bought some that was less than 5.7. Still, both are a cool round and I may add a PS90 to the collection soon.
@scottwatrous

My take, as a tinkerer type, is that this is a perfect product for the OG HK collector crowd from the 90's and 00's (and I presume are still out there today) used to building clone-correct H&K stuff from parts kits and an assortment of US made compliance parts, and who are used to paying an absolute fortune for those parts from various random sources in order to eventually assemble something remotely close to original spec. For them buying the T7 is worth it just for the polymer receiver, and a few other parts. The fact it ostensibly is a complete gun is bonus. I been there, done that, with an SL8-G36 conversion and a HK-91 build. For that demographic, this is an excellent product in that it supplies all the core parts including the unobtanium parts like the polymer receiver and so-on. To that crowd, if they could spend $4000 to get a stripped semi-auto MP7 receiver from H&K, they would without hesitation. For them, months of fiddling to get it to work is fine, the main goal is to support Tommy as he made the investments and spent the time to bring that community access to these parts. They will then be able to, as a community, work with their own tools, Tommy, and other gunsmiths, and figure out the problems; until, as a community, they all have working little MP7s. That has got to be entirely the motive here. Selling to people outside that circle helps to expand the circle (and fund things of course) but Tommy likely wasn't aiming his launch and support network at the non-HK crowd who expect everything to just be ready-for-war quality out of the gate. This was for the builder crowd Tommy came from, where they were sending hm rifles that cost $2000 plus parts kits that would cost $2000 and be willing to wait months for those to be turned into some hybrid at a cost of over $1000 for the service. There are people with disposable income who wanted unobtanium, and are willing to wait however long it takes for it.
