No he "essentially" didnt say the game was hard. He said that the things that were supposed to be hard are easy, but the things that shouldnt even be hard are the things that is artificially inflating the difficulty. There is a difference between dying to a well designed boss (Margit or Radahn for example) and dying to Malenias Waterfowl dance or mob enemies like those fuckings dogs and birds. The game is made relatively easy compared to other souls like games because of the abundance of graces and summons. But there are also cheap attacks and bullshit mechanics that fuck up the balancing.

@@mediocreiron6680 Waterfowl dance is just hard to dodge, it’s not bullshit. Once you learn to dodge the attack properly you can easily dodge it every time without taking damage. Most people just stick with the standard “rolling is the only way to avoid getting hit” mentality, getting distance between you and a boss is sometimes much better, just like some bosses have attacks that are simply dodged much more easily by jumping. Fromsoft clearly intended us to use other movement techniques in this game other than just rolling and using I-frames to get through every attack.

A lot of people that complain about late game seem to use low vig. At 40 vig I absolutely breezed through late game (except malenia) and I'm by no means a good player. There's a reason why "level vig" became the new git gud

For me its not the damage in general. I mean, its bs that an ant can two shot you while pissing at you but thats not the point. Farum Azulas enemies hit hard but its always fair. The Haligtree in my eyes is just absolut dogshit, even though it looks amazing and the two bosses are awesome. Some of the enemy placement is just...something else. Three crystalids with scarlet rot in one tiny room. One of the scarlet rot tree avatar with two elite knights and a couple of normal soldiers, while get shot at from 4 balistas and you cant reach two of them. Fighting 5 revenants in a row. For me it feels like, as if the developers realized how crazy some of their weapons are and they just cranked the endgame to 11. And its just the Haligtree in my eyes, everything else is fine!

@@lamburtron232 even with 50 vig and tree sentinel armor it's still a bull shit amount of damage. Personally the only reason why elden ring got me was the exploration (which is kinda held back by the massave scale with so many repeating enemies and bosses only like 10 bosses of the 120 bosses are unique even astel gets repeated in a normal dungeon) even though I have less hrs in dark sos a I still enjoy the games cbat and balancing more despite all it's jank and level design bullshit

@@pointlessless2656 You’re over exaggerating a lot. The boss variety is very much fine, bosses repeat themselves in areas where it makes sense (except Astel) and even the same type of bosses have meaningful alterations like the dragons for example. I’m on NG+4 and the damage dealt by enemies is still very much acceptable. I’m running 60 Vigor with only Malenia’s armor, that armor barely has damage resistance, there are Talismans which reduce the damage you take from certain affinities, you should use them, they are really great. I always switch between them depending on which affinities I see the most in the area I’m around. On that specific part of the Haligtree you were talking about, you’re not supposed to go head on against all enemies, it was in my opinion very clearly demonstrated by placing a Putrid Erdtree Avatar that’s covered by 20 ballistas which you have to cross a bridge for to reach, if you would’ve taken the other route on the other side, you would’ve gotten behind the ballistas and could’ve taken those out first before trying to engage the Avatar or you could’ve even skipped that entire part without fighting the avatar or anything else that’s guarding the gate.

@@DetectiveWarden I didn't mention the Hailgtree at all, but om the topic of "bullshit" I wasan't trying to say that you have to tank every single hit, witj Melania as an example I have burned doging that fight in my brain only to be severaly punished for not doging a single attack, over a third of my health bar gone from a single fucking slash. That is just not fun, the first time I beat her it took me 2 days and 4 fucking re specs and forcing my self to use mimic tear so I wouldn't have a fucking stroke (keep in mind I never had to use summons for most of the game). Even more bullshit I had even better armor on that characyer with the bullgoat armor and still got fucking hit from unbalanced damage numbers. And that fucking life drain abilitly that gives her 500 hp per hit is fucking cheap as fuck, she even get hp from that stupid kick move, like lore wise how does that work it's a fucking kick. While I'm happy you had fun but end game was designed by fucking monkeys.
