Oop, there's the tears again. It really is weird to know he's gone so soon, but I guess we should be glad he was able to have such an impact to begin with. His work influenced millions of people, so he definitely did his job right.
I'm crying as I'm typing this, I may not have known this wonderful man, but the work he has done for the world is incredible and has affected me so deeply that I feel as though I have lost someone close to me. R.I.P Mr. Iwata, you will be missed ;(
Satoru Iwata's death surprised me when my friend told me. The nexy day I got super emotional and played sm4sh to honor him. I saw his first speech, and it broke me down to tears. May you rest in peace, Satoru Iwata. Your card said you were a game designer Your heart said you were a gamer And we say today, you are a legend.
Thank you for making my childhood so much better, brighter, and happier. Its because of you that my father and i would bond everyday playing video games and having fun. Till this day when reality is too much for me I turn to another one that u created as an escape for a while. Thank you for sharing your world with us Mr. Iwata Rest peacefully. ❤️
Currently, it's 2022, and I realized how important he was to Nintendo. He wasn't just the President and CEO of Nintendo, he was a man who made video games more enjoyable for everyone. I truly miss him, and your words were very inspiring. In fact, it made me want to play _EarthBound_ since I have never played it before.
I like the honor of that... But it might cause people to be sad for too long. While Mr Iwata deserves a million maps as an honor, we dont want people to be sad for a very long time either. And, we already have his games as a way to remember and respect him.
R.I.P. Mr. Iwata, you had a great heart and you were such an impact to nintendo. I may have never known him, but, he was a very hard worker (from what Swimmingbird could tell) with such a mind and talent for detail.
Okay, now I gotta finish Earthbound. I think I'm halfway through, and I keep getting killed a lot, but I have to finish it for his sake. For Iwata's sake.
M1YAK1 I'm gonna play pokemon Gold, for his sake. How someone fit 2 entire regions into a small cartridge for a gameboy is mindboggling for me... True Devotion.
I remember seeing this video years ago, and not really knowing what was going on with it. I’d never heard of Mr Iwata before, and this tribute made me realise at 11 years old how much his work had impacted me. I hadn’t really seen a lot of death up to that point in my life, and in a way, I think the way Adam was able to be honest about his grief and his tears, and convert it into such a heartwarming tribute, really helped my young self reckon with all of the hardship and grief that comes with life. I’m in college now, and all the better for the hours I spent watching your work, Adam. Thank you.
Dude I rate this. I feel so bad that IWATA died. My grandma told me the news and I didn't know what to say. Your a great bro. Thanks for sharing your devotion and feelings for Iwata, the man who changed gaming.
This is beautiful. Thank you for shining so much light on this. We still have our memories, and I hope Mister Iwata will live on in other games for years to come. Keep your head up, everybody. He's in a less painful position, in the Nintendo headquarters in the sky.
haven’t lived even half as long as adults have, but I do have plenty of memories in my collection, my favorite console, my NES with a dusty inside, deep in my pocket is my long lasting gameboy, the 11th was sad enough to make tears come out, but you are still here, I thought my gameboy micro was just nothing the whole time, but i probably always loved it without ever realizing it, I smiled while playing ,and it was the biggest grin, R.I.P Satoru Iwata saving my 2 most beloved series making us have the best times you will be missed by all of us
What's even sad that he passed on my birthday, and I just realised that after a few days. When I was playing Animal Crossing New Leaf, my dad told me the news...
Iwata helped with lots of my favorite games like Mario and Luigi dream team or Splatoon, smash bros wii u ,and many more and once I heard the news while playing splatoon and looking at miiverse posts I found lots of posts on iwatas death and I told my friend about it a few hours later and without iwata we would not have earth bound or mother 3 or even smash bros as swimmybird said in the video and that's why I say thank you everything iwata he was a good man and rest in pease I hope you are happy in heaven you are a king in my book👑
Mr. Iwata was one of the greatest out there. I can't believe he's gone. I sometimes cry knowing that he's gone, but he will live on in the hearts of us gamers, staying with us while we play the games he left us. Rest In Peace Mr.Iwata. Thank you for all your hardwork.
I was watching T.V. while listening to this video and at the end a person started crying. Afterwards, someone said that he must have been taken this really hard. I just paused and thought how almost everyone was taking his death very hard and that I wish for the best of Iwata's family and all the others he touched. I hope you guys all fare well in this level we call "life". So guys, "Please understand", the great die young. He would never want us to not enjoy the games he made because he got a "Game Over". He want us to continue having fun because that's what he believes games are about. Having fun, and enjoying the experience of playing great games made by such great people. Bye Iwata-san, we will remember you for the many years to come.
mintbreathingdragon well, my uncle died, then my grandma, now im unhappy living with my asshole grandpa, and then FUCKING IWATA DIES!? IDK WHAT PEOPLE SAID< I FOUND NINTENDO DIRECT ENTERTAINING!
Rest in Peace Iwata. He was a great dude. He touched the hearts of many children and many adults too. We will all miss you very much. He lead nintendo to Greatness even during his last breath. This is who I call a Childhood HERO!.....
R.I.P. Mr. Iwata. He was an amazing man,and worked on many of my favorite games, and though i don't have a video game quote because i don't want to copy the other guy who quoted grovyle from pokemon mystery dungeon, but i do have my own words. Mr. Iwata was an amazing person, working on many games that i love. Without him,my childhood would have been much more boring. Because of him,i had something to do in my spare time. I wish to touch the world the same way he did, whether i live to be 100, or only 26, I hope i can do something important to people, not just for myself, but for everyone. I hope to create something that will make people smile, and something that will make not just me, but many people, a shining star in the night sky. And i know that Mr. Iwata definitely did that in his short life. Thank you Mr. Iwata, we will always miss you.
I wish I was more emotional in a different way... You can't make me cry about death, but something little, like a small decision, I get close to breaking down. I hate this about myself. take care of Iwata, oh Lord Almighty (I am christian please don't judge) and may he rest in peace.
R.I.P Mr.Iwata, may your sacrifices teach others that if you really love something you have to devote yourself to it. Without him nintendo would not be the same. I'm sure people including me looked up to him and will onwards.
It's beautiful that you sent him off properly. He was a great man and someone who was passionate about his work. He was one of a kind and I know Nintendo won't be the same without him. Thank you for this Swimmingbird. I felt it really captured what made him a great person.
You're contribution is really touching and makes me miss the beloved developer even more, but at the same time, I think this video really sums him up. I think that its he's looking down on you from a better place that he smiles upon you. You are truly kind, Swimmingbird941.
I like that you put the Smiles and Tears music from EarthBound, your favorite game, which is also my favorite game. The music really fits this tribute.
Mr. Iwata was a talented, inspiring, and amazing man. He will be remembered by millions all over the world. Even though I have never met him I was still brought to tears by the news of his death. He has impacted countless through his work. Although he died far too young at the age of 55, he was able to accomplish incredible things in his short time. We are forever grateful for the things he has done and the games he helped create. Adam, thank you for making such a beautiful speech. Rest in piece Mr. Iwata.
I started crying basically as soon as the video started. Even though we might not have know him personally, it feels like we've all lost someone that we were all very close to. Rest in peace, mr. iwata. You'll always be in our hearts.
Thank you Mr. Iwata. You helped make today's, adult's childhoods memorable and happy no matter the circumstances they went through. Your dedication to making games was truly phenomenal, you will be missed dearly. We hope your dedication to games lives on in the future of Nintendo games to come.
Thank you for this send off Adam. I grew up with his games, I honestly couldn't believe it at first (I read it on r/nintendo) and really thought it was some sort of sick joke. Mr. Iwata's light shone very bright and expanded through generations. I can only say, thank you for the memories Mr. Iwata, may you rest in peace.
It's okay if you want to cry about it, Adam. I've already cried a couple of times about it, and it helps to release the emotions. R.I.P Mr. Iwata - a true gamer and a great legend of gaming (not to mention a genuinly kind person).
That was a poetic and sincere eulogy. Very touching, heartfelt and genuine. Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata-san. Thank you for all you've done and accomplished for us lifelong gamers in your short 55 years here on Earth.
We will miss you... You were amazing, bringing love to the gamers hearts, and living a good and happy life. You are in a better place now. R.I.P. We Will All Miss You Mr. Iwata
When I heard the news, I was upset, but it wasn't until today that I became devastated over the news. All these tributes, songs, quotes and videos made me realize something: Iwata really is a legend, and may he live on in our hearts forever.
R.I.P. Satoru Iwata 1959-2015 We will all remember you and love them Nintendo games. Thank you for filling up the void in our lives. That void is video games. You will be remembered, Mr. Iwata
Thank u so much saruto for everything that u have done to the gaming community, u have evolved the evolution even for Sony and Microsoft. Without you gaming wouldn't be a hobby. I always loved Nintendo from start to finish even if I play some of sony's games. The gaming community thanks you for all that you have done, R.I.P
Thank you Iwata. He just wanted us to have fun though. Rather than grieve that he is gone, let's be grateful that he as a person existed. Let's face it. In a year or so, all of us are gonna unfortunately forget about. It's sad. But it's true.
I have a poem for this fine great man here I go. Mr iwata disagreed with his parents on what they wanted, inspired hearts children to adults none can forget the care And love those games you made everyone hopes you have a amazing time in heaven and you to everyone here is a legend that will not be forgotten for centuries or till we die we hope you a good time in the after life
This video is so sad and addicting thank you Adam and Mr. Iwata Dear Mr. Iwata, Thank you for everything you created souls of happiness. I hope you are watching us form heaven and be happy and always know what amazing things you have done.
While I'm only a rookie with my 20 years I was shocked when I heard he had passed away. This guy made the games that made my first contact extraordinary and I have been addicted to gaming ever since! I'm just a loss for words to describe it all and what a wonderfull person he seemed.
So many feels... Thank you, Mr. Iwata. Thank you for the games you created for us. Thank you for making our childhoods the way they are now. Thank you, Satoru Iwata. You will forever be in our hearts.
