The writers made a big deal in the interviews afterwards about one ascending and one descending. Darla was a vampire while giving birth to Connor. That was the part of the whole point of why the prophecy said there would be no birth. Darla had to stake herself in order for Connor to be born because a vampire wasn't equipped to actually give birth and she turned to dust when she staked herself.

Darla was very much a vampire when Connor was conceived. Think it through if human Darla was pregnant and then became a vampire the baby would have died. Connor is a human boy with enhanced abilities. He has a human soul, a heartbeat, a reflection and can go out in the daylight. He's a human in every metric that really matters.

@@amurmurmur609 I believe Darla has completed all 5 seasons of Angel on Patreon, so anything Angel-related is unlikely to be a spoiler. Hence the upvotes. But if someone is watching these episodes on their own in real time and then coming here to watch her reactions, I suppose that theoretical viewer could be spoiled.

Andy Hallett (1975-2009) played Lorne pass far too soon. No actual CD "Angel, Songs For The Love Lorne." Where I live there were 2 drive-ins within 15 minutes of my house. They both closed decades ago. Grew up watching cartoons before a double feature. A Featured new movie followed by an older movie.

I knew you'd feel conflicted about this episode. So much happened. Lorne is gone, Gru is gone, Angel is underwater, Cordelia has ascended. Wesley and Lilah is an odd pairing, but that part at 13:03 "I wasn't thinking of you then.", was such a savage burn!

Justine of course once again teams up with Connor to do the ultimate betrayal of Angel inflicting on him the terrible torture of being confined to the depths of the Ocean in an unbreakable cage. We of course see Skip help Cordelia 'ascend' while Angel 'descends'. We lose Groo too, who knows that deep down Cordelia didn't love him. Lorne is off to Vegas, you'd think a place where he really belongs. All in all a good, but frustrating ending to the Season with fans yearning for the new Season and will we see our favourite characters again, the writers in Angel leaving a real cliffhanger here for S4.

I have a vague memory of the time away from the show feeling really excruciating, wanting to know what will happen to Angel and how the hell he'd get out of the ocean. I have many thoughts about season 4, so I''m going to be very curious what you'll think!

The parallel between Cordelia ascending and Angel descending is always sad to watch as it brings them farther apart from each other.

5 seasons of Angel. Season 4 has some epic cinematic moments and the shared universe is relied upon for some moments. A lot of what you've seen already builds up to season 4 and paves the way for an absolutely EXCELLENT season 5!!

The Cordy/Angel romance always felt shoehorned in and awkward to me, but I felt bad that your hopes were dashed! But of course, it couldn't end on a happy note. s4 will be an interesting ride!

@@MrLorenzovanmatterho I find her much more credible, and her statements are in keeping with others' statements about Joss. Whereas people are not materializing to tell stories about Charisma behaving badly.

@@TheNoybusiness Yes they are, the producers all agree that CC was "difficult", she suffered from extreme anxiety, had to have a coach to deal with it on set, got a cross tattoo when she was the love interest of a vampire and not telling everyone she was pregnant which screwed the series. Joss had to run the show and I sympathise with him having to crack the whip and make the hard decisions.
