From Friday November 5th 1993, Tomorrow's World looks at the possibilities of Time Travel, and veteran presenter Raymond Baxter reminds us of the very first videos games, while Howard Stableford looks at the future of Virtual Reality.
DW on TW, I remember recording this when it first transmitted, around the same time BBC 1 were repeating Planet of the Daleks if I remember correctly, and I had that on video until 2018, when I 'lost' most of my collection when I moved house.
How times have changed, they thought Sega would be the go to for VR. I like watching these as it reminds me of how advanced our current tech really is when only a short time ago they couldn't even dream of what we have.
all that clock on a plane proved was that the clock couldn't count time correctly when the plane moved fast. It didn't have anything to do with time travel and did not prove Einstein's or anyone else's theory. A clock, not even a caesium clock, does not measure the passing of time; it displays a value based on how many ticks of energy it receives from the crystal or other elements that power it, but this transfer of energy can and is influenced by outside forces and factors, which is why no clock is entirely accurate and cannot be used to prove anything other than yes, time happens.
amazing part about the tyre fire is that no one suggested the obvious solution: dig the fucking things up so you can A. kill the fire and B. recycle the damn things like you're supposed to. Tyre recycling was a thing since the 1980s and burying them in the ground has never been justifiable. Never mind that if you're not going to recycle them, they consist mostly of oil, so it makes more sense to stick them in an incenerator and use them for energy than burying them
The trouble with time travel is the earth is travelling through space, so if you did go forward/backwards in time there'd be nothing there when you got there!
My God...around 2mins.. What was she wearing??? Is she off to the Rocky horror show or something? So much for Einsteins relativity.. We are all in a simulation which explains 99.9% of all quantum physics and physics in general..
But it did happen in 1783.. I was aboard H.M.S Bounty and suddenly, a giant queen ant from outer space swooped down on the ship and took me.. I awoke 2 years ago in 2017 and I don't know what to do..🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🔥🔥🔥🐸🐸🐭
Well derrrrr.... this was coming on to 30 year ago... how old are you? Because I'm guessing this may well be older than you. It's very easy to take things for granted in this age of technology- but back then this was cutting edge. What were you expecting- xbox one graphics? How do you think xbox one graphics exist today? It just 'happens'?
