I think you are making a valuable contribution by documenting lesser know locations - most RU-vidrs stick with the same collection of popular touristic destinations. I hope the city can find a new use for the old market - it has such beautiful ironwork at the gates!
Hello Ada! 😊 Yes, most RU-vidrs do seem to show the same places time and time again. In a way it makes sense, these videos are not cheap to make, with all the traveling, etc... The views (and ad revenue) for this kind of video are usually quite low and often don't cover the costs. Having said that, this channel is a work of love, and while I would like to have more views, that's not my motivation. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the old market is now some kind of cultural center, youth center... something like that. 😊

Hello Ulker! 😃 I still have a few videos showcasing small towns that I filmed last yet. Sunday will be another one, but this one will be very controversial, not due to the town itself, but because of who was born there... Ah, quite a few pairs of shoes actually! I always need to wear a specific type of sneaker to avoid making too much noise while I walk. Not all sneakers are compatible with having a RU-vid channel. 😁

It seems to have a fair mix of old and new where the new is made to blend in with the old.
Yes, true! Think about the destructive power of a thermonuclear missile... and how many thousands of nuclear warheads the US and Russia have... Tondela, despite being small, has better quality of life than larger and more "developed" cities. The modern areas are quite nice.

I appreciate that you film walks in different locales aside from Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Estoril, Porto, Coimbra. It is indeed very important to visit other places in Portugal, lesser known places, to get to know the country more fully. Portugal is certainly more than it's most well known cities.

Your work on RU-vid will reach whomever needs to see it. Just trust in the greater mind that governs all life. And, as far as showing towns and villages of perhaps limited general interest, I am somehow reminded of the story of the father and young son walking on a beach where many starfish are helpless after having been washed up on the sand. The son picks one up and returns it to the sea. The father makes a disparaging remark to the son “Why are you doing that? You can’t save all these starfish.” The little boy says “but I saved that one” and continues to help stranded starfish get back into the sea. So, in a very roundabout way, I’m just trying to point out every place you’ve shown us here on RU-vid is equally worthwhile and deserves to be appreciated since it will be of value to someone … It’s a bit cold in the Music City this morning. 52° f but with clear sky and full sun ☀️ … Enjoy your day and thank you for another great look at life in Portugal!! 😊 … John

I also learnt a new word, "lethality" 😊 I had been previously aware of Tondela, but only through my faze of betting on Portugal's football championship. I dont think Tondela won me any revenue 🤗🥝

Tudo que fizeram e viveram no passado tem grande significado até hoje e por causa disso tudo é preservado e contado incansavel e orgulhosamente, com toda razão. Essa história das balistas e bestas é muito interessante, e um lugar que diz: os Besteiros só pode ser especial, por que faz parte de uma época de muitas lutas e guerra e uma arma como essa deveria ser muito boa e eficiente pra enfrentar o inimigo. Fiquei esperando um espaço com balistas e bestas expostos, mas acho que nao tem, nao é!!!. E não diga que a cidade é pequena e que não vamos nos entreter ou emocionar, por que não é verdade. Conte-nos tudo de Portugal porque queremos saber cada detalhe que você quiser nos contar. Amei o vídeo e a história. Grande abraço. 😘

Not really, Tondela is quite small, you would only need a car if you wanted to go on road trips to other towns. Penedono and Trancoso are considered "museum towns", with beautifully preserved historic centers, where not many people live. Tondela is more modern, so more people live in the center, it's easy to find grocery stores, etc.
Don't worry, I won't Oleg! 😃 Another small town will be featured in this week's video. But this one will be far more interesting than Tondela, both visually and historically...😉
