I think HW needs a couple more knobs and buttons to feel more comfortable… he’s been spoiled by the interactive feel of the Kemper for so long he doesn’t know what to do if there’s just a single button.
Realistically this’ll do everything I need from a tonex pedal. I usually just flip between two amps per gig. Such a great little utility pedal that could be used in so many different ways.
ToneX is already a game changer. For small amount of money you get a professional superb tone. Much better than overpriced Kemper or QC. Now it will be even cheaper.
Have you Ever player the tonex , Kemper and QC? The tonex Sounds like a toy comparing with the Kemper and qc . I bought a tonex and sold it, than bought the Kemper profiler player and I’m totally satisfied now
Pair it with a pod Express and you have a battery powered fly rig I already have an HX Stomp and a tonex pedal but they don't run on batteries and they don't fit in my pocket
Are we living in what will be remembered as the Great Digital Guitar Arms Race?... When companies went to war with each other to give us tones we had 10 years ago in ever more convenient form factors?
IK truly gets it! This thing will sell like crazy! I'm truly glad I'm already invested in the IK/Tonex ecosystem. My only question so far is the reverb type selectable from the pedal or just the software? Also, not a game changer but I think I would miss the Presence and Depth functionality. I do occasionally adjust those.
@@heyadamsmith that seems to be the case, though I have not tested it. The only parameter for reverb is mix. But it would make sense any change you make to type or length would pull up on the pedal once saved.
@@thesoozeTJ fair enough! And hey, I am hoping you guys start releasing pedal capture packs! I'm a huge fan of your captures and think pedal only captures would be super awesome!
I've been thinking about the dual mono output, could you use it as a splitter and then have L out absolutely clean running throuh your amp rig and R out as a modeler rig to FOH?
I noticed that as well. I don't see those are included according to the product spec chart on the IK site. Not a game changer for me but I do find myself adjusting those, especially on some hi-gain models.
Yes - you would have to dial up the sound using the software and then drop it into the pedal like that (in regards to presence and depth, as well as reverb type and maybe some other parameters I'm forgetting).
tonex pedal has two mode to change preset, the default mode change preset when the switch is released, this take the time to press then release the switch, but in this mode you can press two switch at time to change bank. There is a second mode, (can be selected from setup, read manual...) wich change preset istantly when a footswitch is pressed, in this mode no two footswitch at time work for bank change, but the bank change is allowed by external footswitch to connect to ext. control input jack. Another solution is by using midi.
@@fabiobertolami2740 that isn't the issue unfortunately, and still provides a processing gap when changing sounds. I've heard people suggest that the processing delay doesn't happen between certain sounds, but I'm highly sceptical. I'll be trying it with midi the see if it makes any difference though, it'll be interesting
This is terrible.... For my wallet. It does too much to not have. I use my ToneX pedal everyday and have always thought getting another for pedals or dual amps. This is a nice size and price
