I honestly love this conversation bc it also shows how ppl are policed in gender based on vocal range. Women w/deeper voices and men w/higher voices are made to feel like it's not natural or something to be ashamed of, so ppl like this are made to feel like they need to reach ideal "femininity" or "masculinity" by nervously adjusting their voices in song and even in casual conversation. They did this to Britney Spears even with the altered baby voice, when she actually has a lower alto range. But these voices add to the rainbow of ranges in the world, and they actually stand out in a distinctly amazing way and should be appreciated for that. I wish Toni knew how much ppl love her voice for being distinguished and unique like that, and a lot of ppl can relate to that sort of life experience---being vocally different. That with her vocal talent are truly stunning, bc it shocks you and captivates your attention in the best way. Keep unbreaking our hearts, girl.
