All I'm seeing is negative comments, saying no one knows how to feel about this but can we all just appreciate how much beauty the lyrics hold? Listening carefully and actually emphasizing the lyrical content holds a piece of Jenna, and speaks about how she feels and clearly these lyrics are deep and close to her heart. So honestly stop finding every flaw, and just appreciate how much time was put into this song and maybe this music video scene holds a look into Jenna's mind.

I recently met her and we had a very very long talk about this album and her explanation of it all really makes it that much more powerful to rewatch this and listen to it again. I choked up this time. such a wonderful and beautiful spirit who deserves to be more well known not based of how different she is, but how talented and inspirational.
I don't quite remember much of it all, but basically she said this album was a way for them to transition and a way for Jenna to show her emotions in a different light. This album is incredibly important to Jenna and the band and if you'd like to know, Jenna said Oxygen is her favorite song from Limitless.

+Evelyn Tapia fans separated into two groups with this album. Fans of pop punk, and fans of Tonight Alive. To everyone dismissing this album for not being pop punk enough, it's their loss for not giving it a chance. This song is full of emotion! I love it, along with the rest of the album.

Just saying, when this song first came out at the end of 2015, I was bawling by 2:32 on the first listen. I can’t even describe how emotionally powerful and raw this video is. Before that, I only knew Tonight Alive for their cover of “Little Lion Man” and “The Edge.” After that, I knew they were something special, and I made sure to listen to the rest of their music, which was full of tracks that affected me in the same way. Not gonna lie, I was in tears when I met her and the rest of the band at Warped Tour.
2 years later and this song just gets better with age! People seem to miss how this does still vibe with The Other Side. One of my favorites from the album
As a person that just started listening to this band YESTERDAY and seeing so many people saying stuff like "They sound different" and "Not as good as their older stuff" yet all I have to say is that is the lead singer the same? YES. Is the band still making music? YES. Then stop complaining and just like them for who the are and who they have been, if you cannot handle their new sound, don't listen to their new stuff.

Such a powerful song! I love the dynamics and how it changes from a softer verse to a strong bridge and finishing chorus. Can't wait to see how they play it live!

What is funny is that Paramore isn't even a reference for the new generations anymore, 'cause there are plenty of bands in this genre now. Still, people who get older take long periods of time do adjust to new paradigms and keep talking as if what was important in 2010 matters, when it clearly doesn't. And it doesn't since long.
Different sound but its still Tonight Alive. Tbh this song was okay, I think it'll slightly grow on me if I listen to it over and over. Really do hope that they have some really upbeat songs like The Ocean, Lonely Girl, Wasting Away, Listening etc. . . I do accept change for bands and I'm open to what Tonight Alive have done on their new record. Other than that I'm excited and can't wait to see them live again and hopefully meet them! I'm hoping that their new album is just as good as their past albums!
+Paula Reboll Yes its Tonight Alive, if it wasn't Tonight Alive you wouldn't see "Tonight Alive - Human Interaction" on the video. If this wasn't Tonight Alive like you say it's not then why doesn't it say "Jenna McDougall - Tonight Alive"? It's not a solo project. Just because you don't see the rest of the band doesn't mean that it's not Tonight Alive. Jenna is just the singer who's acting in the music video because it comes from a personal experience that she went through. Seriously though don't be saying any nonsense.

Don't know lyrics behind this song, but it reminds me when I was on "antidepressant" (drug - paroxetine) ). My senses and feelings were switched off, I was going through a long and painful battle, my immune system had been shut down and I was poisoned by the doctors who told me that antidepressant will help me! Antidepressant destroyed my life and I almost died because of it! I did not feel anything at the time, I did not fear death and I did not feel love, nor any other emotions! I felt like "I was existing but not living" I was looking for something extreme, looking for pain, looking for something to feel, yet the world seem to be colourless "grey"! This song describes perfectly how I felt and it touches me deeply as I lost my wife and my wonderful life because of antidepressants! "I'm doing fine" now, yet my inner being was so damaged that I may have never feel true love nor true happiness till the end of my days! I can't find peace anywhere I go, anything I do, anyone I met! Maybe that one day I will be able, maybe... though I keep telling myself "I will be better"!
You can't say that this is a new TA or that they change their style when you only listen to one song. This is definetly something that TA would do, this sounds like them. It's only a slow song, like many others, nothing new or different. (For me, this sounds a little bit like Complexes or Bathwater, but slower)
They always know what to say. it's like they are in my world and release songs/albums at the right exact time I need them the most. They are so talented and amazing. I appreciate their existence. I honestly can't wait to hear more.

I love the new album. The new style bothered me for a while since I was expecting something like Lonely girl but then started listening again and it finally grew on me. Waves is probably my favorite one so far.
As a musician myself, I fully appreciate the diversity this band continues to bring to the scene. As long as it is written from their own thoughts, feelings, and inspirations, then I am all for it. It's when the record companies, managers, and the ones "pulling the strings" get too involved in production that I have an issue with it. I have seen too many up and coming bands follow that path to destruction, ultimately selling out to the record label, creating fluff just to make a buck. It is quite sad. Looking forward to more from this upcoming release!
I don't understand what people don't like about this? And am I the only one who doesn't hear a big difference between this song and the others except for her accent being a little more prominent? I think I'm the only person who actually loves this song and the video. its about being lonely, it wouldn't make sense for her to be surrounded by other people. I personally think the lyrics are perfect and her voice is beautiful in this song. super excited for this album👌❤

Listening to the song without watching the video let me really hear it, I love it. I love the new direction and I'm incredibly excited to hear the rest of the record.
This is definitely a different style but I find it absolutely stunning. The evolution of a band's sound is inevitable and, quite frankly, hateful comments will not change that. What truly matters is that the band are making music that THEY are passionate about. You don't have to like it. Just respect it.
The lonely term can be portrayed with a band too. That really doesn't justify it. It feels like it's only her We fans know they Are a band. But third people wouldn't think so. Some people don't like the song or her hair What I find very Unpleasant is that the band is not there.

+tom s People. This song is about being lonely. Lonely not in the way everybody hates you, lonely in the way that nobody cares about you. That nobody thinks you worth their time, that you are really lonely but that it will be alright one day (Because we know everything will be alright one day) But this is the reason why is jenna alone in this video. You can see how much she is into this song and this song just gives me those feelings i can't find words to explain. This is the point of song and it's amazing, but we know that whole band is still here.
also, so what if shes the only one in the video, it means nothing. Many other bands do the same, if you are a fan of New Years Day, in their new video Malevolence only Ashley is in the video. Also her being by herself in the vid is the whole meaning of the song, afraid of human interaction.
Bri, I have a serious question to you. Being a black woman as yourself, do you feel any sense of being uncomfortable with Jenna's braids? I was arguing and arguing all day with another fan on Facebook saying that Jenna wearing dreadlocks is wrong, and saying it was a matter of cultural appropriation. You feel that her braids are offensive to the black race or anything of that nature.

But I hope people can focus on the song and everything and not her hair.

While most people focus on the Rastafarian connection in Jamaica that is less than 100 years old, while Hinduism is the oldest religion still practiced.
