Most people do not realize that the ukulele part was NOT performed by Steve Martin. It was actually performed by the legendary Lyle Ritz. Lyle was known primarily for two things: popularizing jazz ukulele in the U.S. during the 1950s, and as a very prolific bass player and member of the famed “Wrecking Crew” from the 1960s through the 1980s. If you are interested in playing this song exactly as performed in the film, there is a video on RU-vid by Chris Drozdowski that teaches it, but be prepared…it is meant for the more advanced player. Or a beginner if you are willing to devote a lot of time to it!

Such a beautiful song. I’m so glad you included all those precise chord variants. So many ukulele charts are inclined to reduce the niceties to make it easier to play.
This is the first song I learned on ukulele, I believe I learned it from ukulele Mike's channel, R.I.P. I really appreciate all of you who teach ukulele here, it changed my life, I can finally make something that sounds like music on my own.
