Rc belt manufacturers suggest never put any oil liquid or silicone additives to rc drive belts. I usually take off the diffs and belts, clean every tooth with a clean tooth brush, and if the belt is really dirty, a lightly dampen towel with water just to clean the belt.. but it shouldn’t be enough to get the belt wet. You want to make sure the belt dries off completely. Additives will only cause more carpet fibers and outdoor dust to get stuck on the belts and weaken the belt.
Very informative video, thank you! In my Tamiya XV-01 (front motor + belt for 4WD), the drive has a lot of resistance when I try to turn it by hand. Could this be a belt issue or did I rather mess up a gear or differential?
You can apply it onto the belt from time. But you don`t have to use it before every run like the tire additive. It is only used to make the belt working more efficient in combination with the pulleys!
