All these other comments are so accurate. This is my second infection in 4 weeks and I hate every second of it. The swallowing pain is the worst pain I've ever experienced, I can't eat or drink, I'm starving. I know it'll get better, but it's so hard to even rest when it hurts this much. I wish luck and health to everyone going through the same thing right now.

I suffered about 2 weeks and now I’m fully recovered. Just wanna say to those who are now suffering from the pain, you’re a fighter💪🏻 do not drink eat cold stuffs. Drink plenty of warm water. It helps alot. You will be okay you will heal.

It's my first time getting tonsillitis and let me tell you fam, I would never wish this shit on my worst enemy !!! Doctor gave amoxicillin antibiotic tablets, throat spray, an immune booster that dissolves and told me to keep gargling warm salt water, I pray it heals cause this kind of pain isn't for the weak !! 🙁😭

I’m currently experiencing tonsillitis rn and let me tell u it’s the most uncomfortable yet painful feeling ever. I made a massive mistake by removing my tonsil stones with my nail which has resulted in me cutting up my tonsils and oh lord the pain has intensified by 1000. I got tonsillitis a few days ago the first day my right throat hurts both swallowing and spitting. I've done salt water and mouthwash gargle after every meal, I never had fever. After 3 days the bump becomes bigger it hurts more so I took advil to ease the pain still gargle. Every morning when I wake up it hurst even more, yesterday was the 7th day I had my tonsillitis and bump is way bigger than before it is scary I decided after 10 days if it gets worse I'm going to ent for a check-up, but before I do tha I tried the garlic and ginger theraphy. I made a porridge with lots of garlic and ginger and I ate it last night then I gargle with mothwash afterwards and drink advil. This morning when I wake up the pain is almost gone it's the 8th day and the bump suddenly becomes smaller I was so relieved so I decided to add garlic and ginger in my every meal today. I no longer feel the pain and I am going to do it everyday until it heals completely.

The pain while swallowing is jumping to my ears 😑 also the fever was crazy on my first day! Literally couldn’t stay awake for more than 15 mins the whole day

In so much pain, hurts to swallow saliva let alone any foods! Day 3 now, I’ve found that Anti Septic listorine has helped a bit

to prevent swallowing put a cloth in your mouth!! idk how i figured it out but it made me swallow a little less, and it doesnt hurt as much !!:)

I had covid and got tonsillitis where I couldn't eat cause it was so painful I recommend getting lozenges for the pain, eating soups and drinking warm tea, mineral water, or sparkling water.Also recommend water with honey and try to avoid lime or anything acidic.

Good video. II have tonsillitis right now. 4 days of severe pain when swallowing. However, this is what helps me - gargling regularly with warm salted water, sucking small milky icecubes (dairy free if allergies etc(, sucking ice lollies like solero...ice cream makes a huge different, it targets the angry hot throat. If you have an icecream maker you could make healthy icecreams with it. The cooling liquids helped a lot but make sure you are warm elsehwhere and your room warm and not too dry

I thought I had it bad until I read these comments. I have some pain swallowing and have a LOT of trouble breathing since my nose it stuffy so I can’t really nose breathe like I normally do so I have to try to mouth breathe but when I mouth breathe my inflamed tonsils won’t let any air go through. So what I did was Drink turmeric, honey and lime hot 3x a day Suck on Halls Relief (blue bag) or Halls Breezers (purple bag) Take Vitamin C 1000 mlg daily 2x a day Gargle with Listerine the blue bottle Brush teeth twice a day to keep bacteria in mouth down throughout the day And get a humidifier! This helped me tremendously! ☺️ also get some sleep if you can I would gargle with Listerine before bed and it would help a lot

Drinking hot water before sleep really helps. Also avoid noodles, oily stuffs.

When you’re experiencing it right now. After 2-3 days of doing nothing it will not hurt anymore but you will still have a swollen tonsillitis.

I have tonsillitis and it’s pretty horrific. It’s painful to swallow and my ears hurt. I went to the doctor today after 3 days of unbearable pain and he prescribed amoxicillin. I also find chamomile or ginger tea and chicken soup soothing. Gargling with salt water and Nitrofural several times a day also helpful. And also performing gentle drainage massage of the neck. A combination of all these remedies will allow to sleep at least for a few hours. Wish you healing and recovery ❤️‍🩹 🙏

Hehe. I got a little sick, and I had throat mucus. My big brain decided to swallow it. I formed a cobble stone throat. While I’m spitting mucus, my throat gets dry. Bacteria causes tonsillitis, and it hurts when swallowing. But the issue is, spitting a lot of mucus makes your throat dry, saliva forms, and when your in a place where you can’t spit, you swallow. It hurts.

I've got it again been getting it 2 or 3 times a year for pretty much most of my life isn't fun yet I still can't get my tonsils taken out according to my doctor so the only way and best way I know to get rid is to gargle salt water, drink plenty of cold fluids and bed rest and dont eat foods that will irritate the throat until you can swallow properly again. Guys I was having tonsillitis and after one day I'm feeling better now. Whatever I did I'm mentioning here: 1. Warm milk, turmeric powder, ginger powder and some sugar. 2. Gargel with warm water and salt. 3. Take a piece of cloth and heat it up and place it on your neck. 4. Have fluids especially hot ones like Soup, tea, coffee. 5. Lemon, salt and warm water. 6. Have paracetamol to act as a painkiller. 7. Have antibiotics. 8. With your thumb press the area of tonsillitis. (It's an exercise) 9. Have cinnamon, giner drink. 10. Have ginger tea. Try all these and if it's not cured after 7days then do consult a doctor. :)

Guys this is my third times having it in 4 weeks. I had to pay so much money to go to the hospital for the second time I had it cause I can barely breath at night (my insurance as a foreigner here doesn't work cause this happened when i'm extending my visa). anyways, it hurts so much. it cost money and my productive day. i have a lot of school stuff and graduation project, still have to tutor online for a living and had to ignore the pain this week. so bad, that's what i'm saying. i came here and now i feel less alone, hope y'all recover really really soon. i hope so too for myself. this is gonna mark one of the worst times of my life. you're not alone 😭 im considering surgery but still can't do cause the insurance won't cover and my visa is still on extending process. sucks a lot how we don't get the benefit of the insurance when we need it the most. truly, i wish y'all a complete heal❤
