George Galloway answers a question on Tony Blair and New Labour.
SUBSCRIBE for more speakers ► is.gd/OxfordUnion
George Galloway talks about The Royal London Hospital, the most expensive hopital on earth built at a cost of £1 Million a bed. This was due to Tony Blair borrowing money from private investors for the hospital facilities. He concludes that every country needs a Labour party, a party that looks after the interests of the working people.

George Galloway interrupted by student who accuses him of being a racist.
Filmed on Monday 14th October 2013.
ABOUT GEORGE GALLOWAY:
Few contemporary politicians have attracted as much controversy as George Galloway. A Labour MP from 1987 to 2003, he was an outspoken critic of the policies of Tony Blair and New Labour, in particular the decision to invade Iraq. Fiery comments such as """"the best thing British troops can do is to refuse to obey illegal orders"""" saw Galloway expelled from the Labour Party. But Galloway returned to the political fray by founding the Respect Party and winning Bethnal Green and Bow in the 2005 General Election. Mr Galloway re-entered Parliament in this March as MP for Bradford West and has recently provoked controversy and criticism with his comments on the rape charges against Wikileaks' Julian Assange.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY:
The Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. It has been established for 190 years, aiming to promote debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

Note the reaction to this great speech by the students present. Not a whimper. Not one expression of agreement. An embarrassed silence. Or a complacent silence. Not even a loud objection. Either way this says quite a lot about Oxbridge learning institutions. Obedient, complicit, supine, passionless, corporate at the age of 19.

Here is the thing though, it is this NEW Labor that made the party electable. Blair a tory in disguise is exactly what kept him and the PARTY popular. It is down to Britain being a predominantly conservative country that votes labour on occasion. That 's not to knock the ability and a vast talent pool of effective leaders and public servants in the Labour party who regularly contribute British politics. The former however happens to have this unrivaled ability of wealth creation and economic competency that places it ahead of the rest of the parties in Westminster.
