People are still suffering from the effects of Thatchers policies in 2023 and my hatred of her has not decreased even though she's now worm food, Rest in peace our British manufacturing industry and the caring compassionate country we once knew before she became PM,
By the same working class scum who enjoy watching asylum seekers drown in the channel! I lived in the areas you are on about don't kid yourself that striking miners were nice people.

Thatcher was a strange person. She was a champion of Pinochet and called him a friend, a man who’s presided over a regime that tortured and killed thousands of innocents in his own country whilst thatcher in the same breath would denounce Nelson Mandela branding him a terrorist, even when he became president she refused to acknowledge him??. That shows that intelligence and a total lack of morality can coexist in the character of one person.
I remember the poll tax. A mountain of paper the size of Mount Everest and her spite.S he did not invent the poll tax but she carried on with it as a good idea to help more and more people enslave themselves to the banks with property that was meant to remain in public ownership. Now look where we are.
she was going to give bills out to the homeless , she was a scum bag bar none, 16 year old's to help billionaires pay their bills , what a tw*t she was..
She was evil??!! She created millions of home owners, and made the UK wealthy and desirable place to live in and invest in. Got rid of dirty coal too. Some people just cant be pleased no matter what. GG in PM seat? That would upset you for sure.... A very very different UK.
It's mad isn't it? A great mind, diplomatic, guided us away from the cold War, we became a respected global player and yet the word evil is used. Probably think Hamas is justified also
@@abdell75roussos Created millions of home owners at what cost? The present housing shortages and high prices are part of her idiotic plan to sell off council houses. She gave away that stock at huge discounts and did not allow councils to reinvest that money to replace them. Dirty coal was banned by the clean air act of 1956. Nothing to do with the Thatcher years. Learn some history . What she did if for he own evil political agenda was shut down coal mines leaving towns and villages in devastation for decades. Then proceed to shut down most of our manufacturing base. Her insistence that the service sector would make us all rich has been shown to been a disaster. Having her main Economic Advisor Sir Alan Walter’s in a constant fight with Nigel Lawson caused untold problems including the resignation of Lawson at a critical time. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
@@hairblairbunch81 Thatcher a great mind and diplomat? She had nothing to do with the ending of the Cold War. She has a lot to do with the problems with have now. Lack of a manufacturing base, lack of housing, the aftermath of selling of council house at a huge discount and not allowing councils to replace them. The problems with some flats in blocks being in private hands and some owned by the council. This came to a head with the fires caused by faulty insulation. The flat owners are now in debt by many £1000’s. I lived through her years of hell. Even her own party eventually realised her failings and removed her from the Office of PM.

George i have so many problems with you over thebyears...but this country needs politicians like you. Your analysis of Thatcher years is bang on. I saw young mothers shedding tears when Killoch closed and not one tear from Thatcher, as you said the only tear she shed was for herself. Ayrshire was decimated in 1986 all those villages all those communities gone.
@Mark Corfield The working class lived in poverty, they nationalized the copper mines, the profits were used to pay for health and social care , feed people etc i.e. social justice. America didn't like that. What is wrong with your working class brain that you support the exploiters?
I emigrated to America in 1991 though I believe that certain decisions made economically to privatize certain industries was the wrong thing to do. The result has been the decimation of those industries by financiers who have no loyalty to Britain.
It's possible that Thatcher and Reagan would taken the world to the brink of nuclear anialation. You certainly would have had to lived through the 80s to understand the times we lived in.
@@reginaldmolethrasher437 A broken down cowboy who had dementia while he was in office, and a would-be toff with a fake upper class accent and a hatred of the working class? Are you serious?
I spoke to two coppers who worked on the miners strike they thought it was great. They made a bucket full of overtime and even laughed at being able to buy a miners TV for a few quid as he was desperate for some money to feed his family. I'm no Galloway fan but when he speaks about Thatcher he is right.
I'm living in Florida and spoke to a police officer from Newcastle and he told me he was able to put a large chunk of money to buy a holiday home here from the money he made during the miners strike. He actually laughed about it and praised Thatcher for it.
Er excuse me imbecile, the miner was desparate for some money to feed his family because he stopped working - it's a simple formula - you work, you get paid. You go on strike cos you're stupid, you don't get paid.
Was that the miners strike where the miners were not even given a vote to see if they wanted to strike and if any of them decided they wanted to work some flying pickets rocked up to beat them up?
And what might that be? In life, i know its boring, doesn't get likes, but the balanced view is unpopular but the truth. She created huge wealth, and she made millions of new home owners, but sold of the council houses too cheap by mistake. So easy to sell outrage and so so easy to criticize. btw You people will get to enjoy the fruits of increasing islamizationm, and their laws and customs, which are the opposite of yours, but you ignore of course. It would be great to live with GG in the hot seat, and then look back at the carnage left. He is a used car saleperson at heart, but joins any case he can think of in order to get his attention. he craves
Have you not noticed that it is so so so easy to criticize people. Its a entire career choice. So simple way to get second hand status. Incidentally, Mrs T was very popular for a long time until people get bored; the westerners disease. Mrs T got rid of the old and brought in the new, with so many people getting what they desired including to buy their own homes en masse. She sold them off too cheap, we know that. M GG pretends to support a culture that is in general the opposite to many western values, and in some case a threat to national security. I would love to see GG run the UK for sure. Wonder what the retrospective opinion would be with the UKs new Blasphemy laws for a start, bankruptcy, and terrorism. Was silent on some high profile case which i wont mention here. King of of faux outrage. Even the Guardian doesn't like him.
@@abdell75roussos No!, I’am no supporter of George Galloway, far from it because of his crackpot ideas, but Margaret Thatcher short sightly got rid of the old and brought in the new to create long term greed. Selling off council houses has created the housing shortage and many people are still suffering from the long term effects of her policies. Tramp the dirt down.
Thatcher the milk snatcher. I remember when she put VAT on chips, back then it was seen as poor mans food. Poll tax was not the only thing she introduced, as a school leaver on a YTS scheme me and my brother where forced to pay the rent on my mothers house when my father found himself out of work after the de-industrialisation. There wasn't a lot of my £25 left to enjoy ( 62.5p an hour ) not exactly a living wage. :D
She was moved into place just at the “right time“ by the hidden hand that controls the world. The result was successful, but the results can be seen to this day.
I liked the house she sold us, as did millions of others. So so easy to criticize years later. Its just the way humans are. The industry’s thatcher demolished were inefficient and subsidised by the tax payer, they were dead socialist commodity’s! she privatised them and the reason they did not thrive is because in Britain they were not able to be competitive, even under massive deregulation (This is proof British tax payers were not get value for there money before her actions) Your welcome to say what she did was not the best way to achieve the ends, but saying something did not need doing and her successfully turning around the economy was not a great achievement, is just ridiculous! And of course poll tax was unpopular! but she wanted everyone to have a equal equity stake in the country because all, and everyones productivity matters! Plus, all levels of income and living standards were better at that time, a direct result of her other policy’s and the poll tax was the way to drive the country further still.... she was a legend, she economically achieved more and did more good than any politician has since before WW1.... unpopular but needed! I love George in his role opposing the US and the worlds modern political corruption but I was also there, back in 1984-85, a young steel worker, when the unions were dragging the country down the drain. The abuse of power by the gobshite union leaders and stewards was sickening to behold. Arthur Scargill had only one aim, to be the man that brought down the Tory government. He had not an iota of genuine compassion for his striking minors. He was on full pay for the whole period of the strike and then accepted life presidency of the miners union despite it's flagrant undemocratic nature. I reluctantly walked out of the gates on a number of occasions when loud mouthed bully boy shop stewards cajoled and intimidated workers into strike action for the most shamefully, pathetic "reasons". Margaret Thatcher was the foul tasting medicine that saved the country from economic suicide. The pole tax was a doomed attempt to persuade the electorate to take more personal responsibility. There was already a tiered income tax system that had the bigger earners paying the most tax. The simplistic view that most people have of that whole period, especially people who weren't even born then, exasperates me. There were many complex issues at play. One of these was that Labour held constituencies were deliberately overspending their budgets as a means of political retaliation through self sabotage. The idea of a pole tax was partly in response to that. I could go on forever. Margaret Thatcher was very strong, hard working, highly intelligent and decent human being. Her time in power was too long. She became corrupted and had to be removed from power, which is a shame. But she does not deserve the hatred that many, many people have for her. Even people in other countries. Her reputation world wide is one of a monster. Not true George. I was there!
You speak the absolute truth.Without Thatcher the puppet Labour government that the Unions owned and paid for would have brought about a far left economic armageddon that we would never have emerged from.Thatcher was the saviour of modern Britian. The real evil was the corrupt hypocrite Scargill and the other bullying Union Czars singing the red flag. The comments on here are by people as hate filled as Galloway without a clue as to the depth of shit Britian was in caused by a Labour Government and their corrupt paymasters.A prime minister for eleven years tells you how actually popular she was.Galloway is a bitter old man thankfully booted off talkradio for his disgusting diatribes.
According to stats, 50% of everything we see as British such as Heathrow airport, railways, ports, boots, Waterstones (bookshop) are now foreign owned. The thatcher government made it easy for foreign take overs of not just British companies with a wealth of knowledge and expertise but also national assets.. where as foregin take overs are common else where, there are rules.. for example in Germany they ban foreign takeovers of allot of technology & engineering companies etc to keep the knowledge in the country.. Britian sells all its best innovation startups to forigners because they’re forced to by some hedge fund in London.. these very situations are a legacy of thatchers policies..why the hell are we forced sell our valuable knowledge and expertise to foregieners to keep city financial firms happy? Remember there are rules allowing firms in the city to to just this!! there is somthing called national interest.. rules like other places should exist to protect our own... jobs, pride, social fabric.. Britian has become a dimmed down, minimum wage, skill less nation with a very rich capital because of the Tories.. the tories created cooperate London which has destroyed our nation and made us all slaves to foreign firms who do not share the passion we do for Britian.. we need strong leaders to change this now! Brexit or not.. we need good leaders that will make us proud again... we can’t keep letting cooperate London destroy us, we can’t keep letting foreigners buy out our country and take jobs away and not paying Uk tax... We earn more tax by making a money ourselves than for a rich foreigner to buy a London property.. this is why there are cuts.. the government has created a very friendly buisness climate for the rich, so they can avoid allot of tax.. who suffers?? Us!! I’m not racist.. I think multicultural societies are good.. but don’t sell our nation off.. let the nation be owned and run by us Brits.. white black or whatever.. as long as we hand on heart are proud of being British.. we will make the nation grow and provide jobs to people.. give us a chance.. stop letting only rich foreigners and London finance make money!
She killed off industries that were arguably dying a death; industries that were propped up by huge, unsustainable subsidies, that couldn't compete against increasing foreign competition. Those whose livelihoods were intertwined with such industries have fair reason to despise her, but to suggest she "destroyed Britain" is only half true. The other half prospered under her leadership and this continued, perhaps even more so, under Blair's New Labour. Rather than incentivise "northerners" to head south to reap the rewards, the large majority of new jobs created were filled by immigrants. This cycle has continued ever since and is arguably the #1 reason why people voted for Brexit. As a nation that will need to compete with the EU, once out, I am somewhat cynical how things will improve wholesale "up north". But I remain hopeful.

Sorry George you are wrong. During the miner's strike Scargill and his lot would not allow the engineers in to keep the pumps running to stop the mines from flooding. Cutting their noses to spoil their faces. Take note.
(a) the coal was too expensive (and too deep) to mine economically and that's before you consider the dash-for-gas which was happening right across the western world.I could also add the previous labour administrations who closed down loads of coal mines but they were labour so that doesn't count I guess (b) the automotive industry was a joke - unions & poor management in the late 1960's onwards help create some of the most useless cars in the world - luckily that all changed under foreign ownership in the 1980's (c) the ship building industry was outdated, poorly run, over unionized and complete swallowed whole by the south Koreans - quite how Thatcher was responsible for that is anyone's guess (d) the poll tax did not get rid of Thatcher it was Tory divisions over Europe, MPs worried about their seats and an economy heading for recession - if the poll tax was an issue why did (e) Thatcher also cried when her son Mark was lost in the Sahara desert in Paris-dakar rally in the early 1980's (f) Markel is half cast not black as her father is white (g) Galloway at the royal wedding? How times have changed (h) Gordon Brown doesn't do interviews for a book - that's because he knows his time as an MP was a complete embarrassment ! Other than that George is pretty much spot on ! She is solely responsible for her dirty deals with her Ronald Reaganomic style policies of deregulation of Englands industries, then heading out foreign. The was when the real rot set in, not the 60's nor the 70's. We were still getting superb cars from England in the late 70's, early 80s and top quality Sheffield Steel cutlery.
