This platinum is so tedious its actually illegal. I only need the " reach level 100 " trophy to get the Platinum but it's nearly impossible to get that amount of xp without literally completing every challenge in the game and online.
Love this concept for videos. It's really cool to see more content focusing on this aspect of gaming because it's such a big thing for me yet you don't see many videos about it for whatever reason. Been platinum hunting for years now and this is definitely one of the most difficult I've gone for in a while. I just really couldn't get some of those "get-theres" down at all. I only have bullring left but I've put THPS on the back burner for a bit while I focus on some more forgiving games lol.
I tried to get some of the Get-Theres for days with a bunch of hours per day, but this is ridiculous. I know, platins should be a bit hard, but this is beyond hard, this challenge is just stupid and frustrating and after a while there is no fun anymore, but hate.
@@bencarter123 Yeah School 2 was one I just stayed stuck on for ages. Went back and did multiple 3-4 hour long play sessions just trying to get that one. The length of it is a real bitch.
The phone thing reminded me of chasing the Platinum in the original Borderlands which had co-op specific trophies. I had a second controller but no one to play with, so I turned the second controller on and left it idle to play as, basically, a single player. The big problem is that the difficulty is scaled for two players so it becomes incredibly difficult. I did manage to do it and Platinum the game but it was such a massive waste of time and effort.
Just platinum that game some days ago and was glad to see a video of someone else doing it. Very good video. No idea what went through the developers' heads for the Level 100 trophy

I feel like VV had so much more planned for this game. Now that we know thps 3 + 4 was planned they could've had it so your profile and levels transferred over to 3+ 4. Big thanks to Activision for killing them and all future hope of the THPS series coming back though, love that I was only able to play online for 2 years
This game really needed THPS3 in it as well, to justify lvl 100, all the gear and challenges. Also because way less people have played that game and it is just as good. It makes sense not to include Pro Skater 4 as that was the first Tony Hawk game to ditch the 2 minute timer and have missions.
The fact you're only now realising how broken manual multipliers were must be very nice. I literally did that in every comp, to the point where I would just get like 100k then go eat or something
All of those Get There challenges were so incredibly hard but SO rewarding when you finally nail them. That was so much fun for a longtime THPS fan. I didn't even attempt any of the challenges that require a grind though ("grind" as in, "time wasting", not grinding a rail). I've always hated any kind of achievement or unlockable that is nothing but a gigantic time commitment and requires no real skill lol.
How are they rewarding? It’s like rolling a 6 sided dice and trying to land a 6 50 times in a row, that’s what it’s like stringing together the broken game in these combos, nothing is rewarding about them, nice try acting like you’ve done it

I wanted to get this game platinum, was almost there. But my ex bought me the game so I gave it her back when she dumped me because I didn't want anything of hers in my life.
This was by far the hardest platinum I’ve ever achieved.The grind to level 100 was maddening. Pair that with those hard Get There’s, no wonder it took me over a year to finish
I’m also part of that .1% of Platinum owners & watching this was such a fun / kind of horrifying experience. Mainly because that when the game first came out & I started playing it, living in California, there were major fires that started to happen around the game’s launch & I was within the danger zone. I grabbed all the consoles I could, including my PS4, & my family took me to a hotel where they let me live for a month & a half (with crappy hotel wifi, mind you). So not only was I doing online college & a fire scaring me into thinking we’d lose our home (we didn’t, thankfully), but the realization of grinding this trophy was such a massive headache. Because I did it legit (except the 10,000 trick, where it’s Create-a-Park) with doing all challenges for all characters’ tours. Even did 10 Million Combo, but it was such a teeth grinder to get it legit, but I got it. But I didn’t know about the New York spot with cheats can work too. Took me 7 months & 2 weeks to get all the trophies, 5 months to just get to 100. Thankfully, when the PS5 version launched with Cross-save, I transferred over the save data & got an instant Platinum for the PS5 version as well as the PS4, which is rightfully deserved for the grind. It’s a fantastic game & this was a great video to bring back such a good / bad memory for me! Congrats on your journey, my dude! ❤🎉
Man...what a crazy story I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Growing up in California myself I also witnessed some crazy fires. Scary stuff, BUT I'm glad you had this game and got the plat! The fact you did the level 100 grind legit is awesome! Keep grinding brotha!
Really excited to watch this video! The grind for level 100 alone is insane and I don't have console so i haven't seen what it takes for platinum but there are some insane challenges in this game that are honestly harder than some of the other really grindy things I've done in other games in the past... Played since the first thps all throughout my childhood and this remaster could not be more perfect imo. I've now reached level 100, gotten all the single player challenges done including all tours, and my current goal is to get a top 100 speedrun on every pc leaderboard but some maps are insane. Just made me happy to see a THPS video in my recommended at all so thanks for your effort on this video and I'm about to really enjoy it I can tell!
incredible video, so glad I decided to check it out! Insane that only .1% of people have gotten this plat but that makes sense. Even with the newer challenges they added before shutting down the studio completed I still was only at like level 93 out of 100 with almost 100% of single player challenges complete, it's actually insane! GGs and excited to see what other videos you make because this was quality!

I've got the platinum in this game but maaan the amount of grind, i just spent 2 whole days doing xp glitch to get from lvl70 to 100 like 14 hours thru those 2 days, it was crazy experience tho
That 10 million challenge is insane, I got very good at the game and couldn’t get passed the 2 million mark. At that point I realized it was almost impossible for me to achieve that challenge and gave up haha I got a lot of challenges completed and a little over half of the players challenges done. It was a nightmare even getting to that point.
Honestly left the game at lvl 78, never seen such a terrible game to grind. Mostly because it’s boring, if they implemented more creative challenges to grind it would’ve been enjoyable. Imma just grind another game until a more less time consuming method comes upon.
Getting this platinum made me never want to play it again. Whoever made the XP custom map was a hero to me once I finished moat of the challenges, those super high ones remain undone. I played it on PS plus to finish the bones skeleton skill tree and no urge to keep on playing. The platinum legitimately ruined the game for me.

Guys I spendk like 50 hours playing this game, and I need 2 more trophies to get the platinum, only need to reach level 100 and do all the gaps, the Get There's was really hard but today I can say that it took me like 2 days to complete all of them. Anyways, tomorrow i will have the Platinum
I bought the remake, but the nostalgia actually didn't hit me, I felt like I was forcing myself to play. I want to be clear I'm not saying it's a bad game.
Using cheat mods and abusing a player made level? What's the difference between this and a Doom run where you turn on god mode every time things got tough?
I was one of the lead testers on this, and we had to make sure every trophy was, in fact, achievable. I feel bad for the poor guy who got assigned the hard get-theres. Pretty sure he was the last person to finish his assigned work xD Sadly, the servers got messed up, and with VV being essentially dissolved, there's basically no one at the wheel anymore to fix them :(
Your video is inspiring me to pick up the game again and go for the plat. I only need 4 more trophies, am like level 70 or 80 I think. Need to do veteran challenges, hard get theres, the horse one, and of course the level 100. Seems doable enough dunno why I stopped so close to the plat lol. Nice vid it was fun!
Not gonna lie, I did it pretty easily lmao. The hardest part was getting the letters in horse because I had no one to play with and I didn't really want to just use 2 controllers to cheese it.
Alternatively, you can also enjoy the game and try to do as many challenges as possible. Some of the challenges actually have a nice 5k exp reward and are not really hard. Those challenges pushed me from lvl 60-ish to level 91, so my grind to reach 100 wasn't too too bad.
By the time I only had the level 100 trophy left, I'd already gotten pretty much everything I wanted out of the game so I just wanted to get to 100 as efficiently as possible, they really expected people to go for all the challenges but 0.1% doesn't lie
I definitely don't miss the Lvl. 100 grind in order to finally get my Platinum. But it's cool to know I'm part of the 0.1% of players that achieved it.

Done everything except for the lvl 100 achievement on xbox. I'm like 93 or something and I just gave up. Was hoping maybe there would be some DLC or something with some extra challenges for XP.
I grinded the hell out of that game right before the last update with the new challenges came up where you can get easily so much more XP without doing that much. Also remember that a couple of pretty hard gaps where buggy and I had to hit them so often. I could have saved myself a minimum of 4 weeks constantly grinding every day the sh** out of it while listening to multiple books on audible. I still dig the feeling after completing the "hard get there's". I literally almost cried after the bull ring and venice beach ones. The feeling after reaching level 100 and getting the platinum was priceless! Friendly greetings from germany and stay healthy!
@Yo Ballert I only know one of them was the "Kicker to Railspan" gap in skate heaven. Please dont start with those cheaters! I remember that someone asked me on psn if i want the "Level 100 trophy" in seconds by just cheating and i was like no man why should i? If the scoring system was fair then it would be much better for the veteran players. Instead, the score is capped at 300 xp so expert players can't rank up any faster than amateurs. Still, I'm proud to be in that 0.1%
All the competition maps, I just do a quick 1 million combo in like 10 seconds then I end my run. 99.9 everytime . I finish the whole comp in like 1.5 minutes
@@TannerJaye i can accept custom maps for those 10k grinds but u used mods so u have unlimit grinds.i dont know how i feel about this, but If u feel good about yourself i dont mind at all , video was great. i enjoyed it very much. :D Tony hawk was a huge part in my youth, maybe i gonna try it myself :D never thought about going back
I recently finally got the platinum trophy of this game, and it took me about a month to get. But I loved the expierience of playing it so much even the struggle of completing all the hard get-there's, and doing the gaps was a blast. Though I made the really stupid mistake by thinking of grinding out all the skaters, completing every single one of their challenges, and even doing a few of the platinum score challenges to get enough XP to make it to level 100, and I didn't even level up once. All-in-all though this game was fantastic and I hope they make a new one someday. (Hopefully make it less aching to get to level 100)
Congrats. Im still busting my ass on the hard to get theres and the ONE HUNDRED trophy. I gave myself until february the 1st and otherwise I’m out. Started somewhere mid november only playing this game and nothing else 😂😂😂😢
I tried to speed run this plat. It took me about 21 hours. But, i had quite a bit more experience playing THPS games than the average player. The level 100 grind can be kind of cheesed in a few hours (about 6) but it is very tedious and boring.
one obscure tip for the horse trophy, if you are using 2 controllers, have the second controller bail by standing still and holding a tailgrab untill they bail, for some reason it skips the bailing animation, speeds it up by a lot.
Okay let's get this straight - you decided you want a rare achievement and leaning on all the cheesy tactics you "grinded" to get it instead of idk - played for fun, with friends or something and half the video is bitching about what a chore you're going through? Bruh no one is making you do that to yourself so quit whining
I gave up at 77% completion of the trophy list it’s too grindy there’s a reason only 0.1% platinum the game and I bet that one percent is Tony Hawk himself lol
This is so bullshit. This feels like an early 360 game achievement list, when every list was an unfun massive grind. Good thing trophies/achievements are way more reasonable now.
What I ended up doing is I found someone who made a script that would allow you to record inputs over remote play and then just loop them via PC remote play. I left my playstation ok for days. The level 100 grind is ridiculous.
I have needed 18 hours for the throphies except lvl 100. But I have done lvl 100 with a turbocontroller. It was very slow but I didn't played. Finally the game runs 700 hours before it reached lvl 100 xD
My Hatred for The Horrible game play proved itself when SKATE came out... I bet Tony Hawk is pissed but also he does admit this game saved his entire career because he was completely broke when he did this
I still remember getting to Lvl 100 after doing every other trophy In this game, I believe I still have the video up on my dead ass channel on how to grind for it fast.
If you ever again need 2nd controller and you don’t want to play on phone, you can just remote play on phone your 2nd account and login with controller on main account. After just press ps button to take control and you can start game and play with controller
Man I think I did every single character story mode and challenges created all 4 characters played a ton of multiplayer and only ended up in level 80 and that’s when I just did the grind with cheats was able to get the platinum on both ps4 and ps5 but man was it tedious
