Tony Hoffer kicks off this five-part series by retracing his steps through the industry. The multi-Grammy-nominated engineer describes how he worked his way up the ranks and built long-lasting relationships with a plethora of world-class artists including Beck, Air, Phoenix, M83 and many more.
Tony then plays back the original recordings that he made with British indie pop band, The Kooks, sharing outtakes from their early studio sessions at Konk and Strongroom. He discusses how he and the band collaborated to define their signature sound, placing particular emphasis on pre-production, performance coaching and session planning. You will learn all of his technical strategies for gear selection, bleed reduction, tempo cues, comping on tape and digital post-production.
These production decisions contributed to creating a hit single that launched the band’s career and introduced a new generation to the sound of Britpop.

Somebody should have told them, that after the intro, the song blew. "I'm know, I'm not fond of asking" - I thought that shit said "I'm not from the raskin(?)" until I looked it up. It has a great great intro, that comes back in the bridge, but the rest of song is just utter shite.

So everyone should have to sing in the same fake American accent for you to understand it ? The tens of millions of views this song has on RU-vid disagree with your opinion that "it blew". There's a whole world outside of America.

@@EarmWermChannelI didn't realise "it blew" meant it was bad, assumed you were saying it was a failure.

@@EarmWermChannelgo and listen to American bands or ones with fake American accents if that tickles your fancy.

Make a great sounding hit only with daw and samples…no analog at all…get a grammy for it and then I will be interested in that channel of masters…

Whats the problem in analog??
@amazeus1980
@amazeus1980 Год назад
@@suyashmishra6083 Not a problem, they use software but they also use a lot of analog. Analog mastering is still industry standard but they don’t talk about it…so you will spend on useless plugins. Useless in terms of top sounding mastering, I mean…
