I think it's about time we get a new Black Sabbath album with Tony Martin on vocals! Come on 🔥 Also Tony Martin mentioned he'd found the Demos of Dehumanizer which featured himself on vocals, that should be released
We listened to The Eternal Album in the military back in '88. That was the first time I heard Tony Martin singing. Been into Sabs since the early 80's.
Forbidden is a great album, was the second Sabbath record that i buyed in cassette, cross purposes was the first one 😊. I love ilusion of power, forbidden, get a grip, can't get close enough, kiss of death!!!
I wasn't even aware of this album until this video... Where do these records end up over time? I put the Born Again album in the same ballpark as these underrated Sabbath albums. Incredibly compressed but the lyrics and instrumentals sound unreal.
@@DrummerBoy233 The IRS records got buried for some time until now. You couldn't even get them on streaming. On May 31, we'll finally have access to all of the studio albums released under the Sabbath name, I think. I hope we'll get some more Tony Martin albums as well - he had a few solo releases and other stuff that's pretty good. Speaking of which, his latest album, Thorns, is on streaming - it's not bad.
My favorite album off Tony Martin era. I REALLY loved it when it came out. I was shocked how modern Black Sabbath sounded for that time, instead of being an old established rock/metal band with a modern production. I still love Forbidden and can't wait to hear the remix! RIP Cozy Powell
It's absolutely wonderful that this record gets a new remix. And I hope more fans get to appreciate the Martin-era of Sabbath. I also hope that Judas Priest get a lesson from this and do justice to the Ripper-era albums!
It's already unanimous that Tony Iommi did a refreshing job on this remix. It's sounding heavy, loud and clear as ever! I particularly love Martin's vocal style for this era of Black Sabbath and this album brings me good memories of a remarkable time in my life. Anxiously waiting for my box to arrive! Congratulations!!!! 🇧🇷
You did a GREAT remix of Forbidden! I've been listening to the original record for decades and honestly this is a huge improvement. I just expected some volume editing in the mixing of instruments and vocals, but the entire album has been refined! This could be a new 2024 Sabbath album as well, considering the overall modern clear production and the fresh vocals by Martin. What a wonderful gift to the band fans! Thanks to both Tonys :)
I love Tony martins voice, the problem I have with his records is that the songs aren’t standouts like Dio and Ozzy songs, and overall the tempo is plodding. Iommi’s riffs were still great, but the overall songs structures are u remarkable. Even the Heaven and Hell 2008 record is like that for me.
@@fallforautumn disagree. Headless cross and tyr album are non stop bangers. .cross purposes was a great album but slightly mixed and forbidden was ...... problematic
Forbidden está entre mis 5 favoritos de Sabbath, tiene cambios de ritmo que no tienen otros, y está nueva versión del 2024 es mágica, Cozy Powell está sonriendo este dónde esté🖤
Black sabbath early 70's is my favorite Black sabbath but songs from the 80's and early 90's are great 👍 but the early album's really got my attention 😊
Honestly, I don't think anyone should be ashamed of Forbidden. It's a very doomy album that seems to go back to the early days of Sabbath if anything. While I admit I'm not the fondest of the album, the title track and the rap metal track in there are underrated gems! Can't wait for the boxset!
I really like Forbidden, the demos show how heavy it originally was supposed to song so I’m prettt excited to hear the remix. Also ready for Born Again to be remixed.
I’ll await the day we also get A remaster of the original Version of Forbidden, as well as the original recording of the 1996 DEP sessions with Glenn Hughes, original Drums, Keys, Guitars, Bass, and Mix.
A bit late for that , but would be great. I'm afraid Sharon probably wouldn't allow it. I'm amazed she has let this happen (but I believe there is a legal loop hole where as long as it is all previously released then its ok or something)
@@sbi168Cross Purposes live is owned by PMI entertainment not IRS which is what BMG entertainment bought the rights to. It's not a popular opinion on RU-vid its the legal decision made by Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osborne.
Totally agree, I saw the tour in '95...great show. Cross purposes was too "friendly" to my ears, but an OK album. Sabbath is best when they sound doomy, gloomy, and evil...\m/
Todos os álbuns são excelentes! A Fase de Tony Martin contou com excelentes músicos. Quando era adolescente ouvia muito o cross pourposes. Um trabalho fenomenal! Pena o box custar um rim e um fígado aqui no Brasil !😢
Mutual agreement Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osborne 50/50 co- owners of the Black Sabbath name settled out of court in 2010 . It takes 3 original members to participate in the process for any new material or unreleased material for any use of the Black Sabbath name and franchise. It's not a popular opinion but it is a legal process between Tony and Ozzy not Sharon Osborne who was in charge of marketing for Sabbath during the Ozzfests tours.
If I remember correct, the Tonys were working on a couple of songs (new ones) to add to the remix as bonus. Of course we know we can't have new stuff under the Sabbath moniker 😒... I can't help to think , that those songs could materialize soon on a (at least) a Iommi/Martin single or EP 🤞🏼🤘🏼
Forbidden is the second album I like most from the Tony Martin years, after Headless Cross which is a true jewel, each song being a diamond to me. My favourite songs on Forbidden are Sick And tired and Rusty Angels. My favourite songs with Martin are The Shining and Kill In The Spirit World.
I've actually come to really appreciate "Forbidden" after all these years. There's really only one track I tend to skip and that's the opener "The Illusion of Power" featuring Ice-T. I'm more inclined to play this album than "13". The only songs I tend to listen to from "13" are "Naïveté in Black" and "Methademic", which aren't even on the main album but came as bonus tracks. For me, the final great Black Sabbath album was "The Devil You Know". Despite it being under the band name of Heaven & Hell, it's still a Black Sabbath album (for me anyway).
I think having "The Illusion of Power" as the opening track is the worst decision they made with this one. That one should have been buried on track 5 or 6...never lead with your weakest song (I get why they did it, trying to attract new listeners and all that, but...oof). I still like this song, but it's definitely the weakest link on the album. I'd put it on the end, but...I like strong closers, and "Kiss of Death" is a perfect way to end the album. "Rusty Angels" is also pretty weak imo...they recycled a riff from Dehumanizer, and I know it's about airplanes, but the lyrics aren't great...still, I've listened to this album from start to finish a hundred times by now. Think I listened to 13...twice. It's fine when it's on, but it just doesn't grab me.
I always wanted to listen Forbidden, trying to understand why people hate it so much. Today I did it for the first time, and honestly I don't get the hate. There are some nasty riffs here and there, and 'I won't cry for you' has such beautiful melodies. Seriously, why the hate? On a side note, I also love the album cover!
Kiss Of Death is an absolutely awesome track as is Get A Grip. Really, I think all of the songs on there are really damn good except for Sick And Tired, which unfortunately lives up to its name. But overall I think it is a fine album and can't wait to hear the remix.
I’m glad they’re not trying to throw Ernie C and Ice T under the bus. At the end of the day, Iommi is the one who went to see Body Count live and he wanted to work with them. It didn’t exactly work out for Sabbath but at least they tried something different.
1000%. To this day I still have never finished 13. I just get so tired of "Hey, remember Planet Caravan? Remember Black Sabbath? Remember Into the Void?"
I never listened to 13 and never will. For me, Black Sabbath's final album is Forbidden. And don't tell me about The Devil You Know. I ain't listening to that album either.
The Eternal Idol is already on Spotify. And the Anno Domini boxset containing Headless Cross, Tyr, Cross Purposes and Forbidden will be released this Friday. So by Friday, every Black Sabbath albums will be on Spotify.
Definitely the worst of the Tony Martin era albums, because overall I really love those albums with him. I'm glad this new mix sounds so much better. I got the set on CD and it's such an incredible collection. Absolutely worth it. I love it.
I've seen a few "rating the Sabbath albums lists" and "Forbidden" comes up as the worst, even Tony says in his book that he did not like it. I think that it is a far better album than "Cross Purposes", which was too "friendly/poppy", but is was great that Geezer was on it. The best Sabbath albums are the evil-sounding, doomy-gloomy , heavy ones like "Master of Reality" ...my fave.
Yeah, I rank Forbidden somewhere in the middle. The first six albums with Ozzy are pretty untouchable, but I think Forbidden is better than Technical Ecstasy, Never Say Die, Born Again (I know I'm going to get some hate for that one lol), Seventh Star, Eternal Idol, and 13. None of these albums are bad, mind you, but I get the sense that a lot of these guys who hate on Forbidden have only heard Illusion of Power and think the entire album sounds like that.
Yes, good point about the people who are quick to judge an album after the 1st track. Being a long-time fan , I find that there is something good in all of their albums and the fact that Tony I. carried on and tried different musical styles is brilliant...he has had a long career and came up with some classic riffs. Born Again is a very funny moment in the bands history, I would say that Seventh Star is my least fave (I don't like Glenn Hughs, but again there are some cool GTR riffs).@@snarkherder
@@stanferraro4130 See, I actually really like Glenn Hughes, but I didn't like Seventh Star as much as the others. If Fused were released under the Sabbath label, it would be near the top, I think. Born Again/Seventh Star were just weird - they had their moments, but it was like hearing two different bands at the same time. I don't think they sound at all like DP albums like some people say (Born Again in particular - Ian Gillan's range was a bit wasted on that one), but they're just...weird.
The common element in all Black Sabbath albuns is Tony Iommi ! The riffs Lord ! Black Sabbath was always and always will be Tony Iommi, no matter what the crooked Sharon Osbourne does or says. His work with Tony Martin was simply MARVELOUS !
Iommi was always the most talented guy in the band, but I do think if less than half of the band is made up of original members, it should probably be called something else. That said, Iommi couldn't release a bad album if he tried. At the end of the day, I don't care what the band is called...if it's good music, it's good music. Sharon can't stop Iommi and Martin from releasing music under a different name, you know.
@snarkherder I totally agree ! If Iommi decide to make new music tomorrow under the name " pink butterfly," I would dive head on in it immediately, without blinking my eyes !

I loved that Forbidden Album, Ice-T was awesome on The Illusion Of Power song, that middle part with the Gangsta Rap he did was cool, & Ernie C is an awesome guitarist & record producer, (btw I met Ernie C with Ice-T, Ill-Will, O.T., Vincent Price, Griz-Bear, Moose-Man, Bendrix, D-Roc The Executioner, Beat Master V, Sean-E-Sean, Sean-E-Mack, Nat The Cat & the whole Rhyme Syndicate Posse Entourage, good times at all their concerts), was happy with that Forbidden record, had some great songs: Kiss Of Death, Rusty Angels, Shaking Off The Chains, Can't Get Close Enough (loved it)! Diehard Faithful Body Count & Ice-T fanatic I am, as well as I am with Sabbath & Tin Lizzie/Thin Lizzy as you well know me by now Mr. Iommi & Mr. Martin! I personally saw Ice-T & Body Count about 20 times in concert: (Stone SF, Oakland Omni, Warfield SF with Exodus, One Step Beyond, DNA Lounge, Slim's, Townsend Club twice, {the 2nd time was when Ice-T was just a judge at a Comedy Show}, Tracadero Transfer, Club 315 with MCM & The Monster, The Filthy Filmoe Filmore West, AfterschockFest Discovery Park Sacramento, The I-Beam, SF State University, Palo Alto The Edge, 3 Shoreline Ampatheater Mountainview concerts: (1. Lalapalooza Tour with Ministry, Perry Farrell's Jane's Addiction, & the Cramps @2 nights Friday & Saturday, 2. Van's Warp Tour, & 3. Mayhem Fest Rock Star Tour with Cannibal Corpse, fun times) & also ofcourse, I saw the Forbidden World Tour, saw you guys at the San Francisco Warfield SF August 1 1995 awesome show, I bought the short-sleeve shirt with the tour dates & the long sleeve World Tour t-shirt, Cozy Powell did his awesome 1812 Overture Drum Solo & Tony Martin was true to form with his strong awesome vocals & awesome long straight jet black hair & that totally awesome 20min long guitar solo you did, oh Mr. Tony Iommi, you were totally killer & out did yourself, I mean, I've seen your guitar solos live in concert before, over 56 times at the shows but this was the first time, I ever saw & heard an earthquake rumbling connected with your solos, (rad) & you made the ground shake & cause a mini shaking Earthquake Effects, with your guitar on stage WTF Killer, which I think figured out, was some kind of shaking effects machine under the stage, to make the whole Warfield Theater shake & rumble, that was awesome, was totally surprised & was an intro to the next song, Black Sabbath good times, also saw you guys at the SJ Event Center & sorry about the Henry J. Kaiser show being cancelled but you guys did play there, I saw with Exodus during the Dehumanizer Tour 1992 great times! Mr Tony Iommi, I have a gut Jedi Instincts feeling, that you are going to reunite with Tony Martin, Neil Murray & Bobby Rondinelli for a reunion, for the Seventh Star, Eternal Idol, Headless Cross, TYR, Cross Purposes & Forbidden Album Records World Tour, I just know it & possibly play Chase Center here in my hometown San Francisco, I hope! In conclusion Mr. Iommi, I am looking forward to that 4th solo record you are currently recording & hopefully, if your well & healthy enough, do a solo tour like possibly at the Regency Ball Room or Warfield Theater SF, that would be grand! Please Mr Tony iommi, I can't overemphasize for you, to be safe, to take care of yourself & see your MD Dr. often for your health, your family & hopefully if you are feeling energized & well up to it, play here in San Francisco again, ty Mr. Tony Iommi, you are my number#1 Metal Guitarist of all time, All Hail Mr. Tony Iommi, the Metal Riff Godfather & All Hail Sabbath & Heaven & Hell Band, The Masters Of Heavy Metal!👩🎤🧑🎤👨🎤🎸🪕🎻:⃝𖤐🤘⃤⃤⃤⩜⃝🤘⃤ ⃝𖤐🤟⃤𓆩🤘𓆪⩜⃝🤘⃤\m/⸸⁶⁶⁶⛧🤘
