I think Tony sees how great he was at constantly distracting others stories and jokes while gathering information. He says something about his routine being phony when they kill him.
@@Rikitiik in my opinion him killing p*ssy is the one death he truly regrets. I’d say Chris but i think Christopher wore his welcome out in Tony’s eyes. I think tony had much more of a moral compass at this point in the story
Turning an unfortunate personal issue (like being a whistle-y nosebreather) into a *core* character component was a genius decision I've worked sound on a couple of productions, outside of s*x and fighting, you *don't* want to hear it and studios spend a fortune making sure that's the case
The shock of realization, the hurt, the feeling of betrayal, the anger i felt it all with just his facial expressions. What a tremendous actor. RIP legend
@@jamaalhorton2343 ...Or even worse --- when I found out my father was a rat and my enemy. Then he turned my 3 brothers against me. They are still alive , one has Altsheimers so he is in Hell. Lovely dad is already in Hell. Ruins.
He was tipped off that he was a rat but against his better judgment he went in denial mode. The evidence was all around him but he loved the man. Tony loved pussy in more ways than one.
What do you think it was? I think he noticed Puss manipulation skills from an angel like stepping back to see get a better view then that look he gives like it's better you hear it from me and iorn sharpens iorn we sometimes are not able to gasp someone we think we're close to or knew it's just natural we're not connected to each others hip like everyday that's not friends we meet up on weekends bar's, games, trips to a camping and canoeing spot we don't bring our ladies around to see us be have a good time they hate it right 4th of July cookout sure but I'm kidding but not I have taken my lady around not all the same but you know everyone's seasons change when you like to fucking party and she's a sweet gurl or playing me I don't know it's like no fear I'm chewing this collar off if you're not gonna run be bich 😂
I’ve only watched the show once and that was last year…. So forgive me for askin what might be a dumb question lol but how Tony figured it out just from this???
We wont ever get another show like this. DEI alone excludes the possibillity to tell stories like this anymore. Look up the current DEI guidelines for writing and hiring in hollywood studios and you'll be absolutely shocked if you haven't already.
I never watched the Sopranos, yet every discussion, short, video, whatever people are always mesmerized. Guess I'll finally download and binge watch it. RIP Tony
I've never seen an episode of this in my life. But, the way Tony starts breathing heavy like that, just at an internal realization is so amazingly real and accurate and brilliant acting. Bravo.
@@michaelshelton7196 he knew deep down, the dream sequence proves it. He subconsciously chose to let him live it was tony deluding himself because he knew what would need to happen to his brother. He ignored the evidence until it became to much to ignore
@@michaelshelton7196 haven’t watched the series in about 2 years or so, but when I last binged it i remember thinking, the dream was the culmination of his suspensions finally manifesting.
It's the look in Puss's eye after he tells Tony to turn his head. It's a look that says "gotcha," in more ways than one (the dog joke + getting Tony to look at the FBI camera).
Damn I didn't catch that I thought he knew because he brought up the lsd thing..wich was a type of dry snicthing because maybe the other homies didn't know about good eye though
I would say it's his eyes after he's thinking for awhile about why he made that joke and look that way and then they made eye contact again and he couldn't look at him straight and lowered his eyes and you could tell he realized in that moment because he blinked a couple times kinda like in disbelief
Idk bout that....your telling me Tony was only facing one direction the entire BBQ and FBI couldn't move to get a pic? And why do they need a pic of him at BBQ?
This shie is freaking perfection. Pussy was the one that Tony truly loved and trusted above all else and he was the one that ended up being the rat. I am willing to bet that Tony wouldn't have suffered as much if it was someone else instead.
@millymosis I am talking about people within the organization. Not his childhood best friend. Interestingly tho, Arty wasn't the godfather to Tony's kids but I believe Pussy had that honor. In the show, Tony called pussy his best friend too. That's why it hurt more than if anyone else had done it.
The scene where Makazian tells Tony about Puss being wired for sound is some of the greatest acting ever. The way Gandolfini expresses Tony’s change of emotion is just brilliant.
I love how they showed that sequence, that slow realization, without saying a single word. Just the slow change of expression and heavy eye contact. So much said with so little, the acting and writing of this show is some top notch stuff man
That look from Pus was after he started thinking he could be A jr. Fed, and for once felt like he had a superiority over Tony and was flat out enjoying it.
@miketrujillo3677 get over wut? Lol dude was wrong af I corrected him you butted in and obviously dnt know wtf you talkin bout..almost the weekend got get some pussy or sutin fam Lmaooo
In this scene Puss makes a comment about how he always flies first class, which prompts Tony to question how Puss can afford such luxuries.Puss responds with a story about how his wife gets him first-class upgrades because she works for the airline. However, his explanation doesn't quite add up to Tony
@@Abdullah_Chill the guys talking are Hesh Paulie and Sil NONE OF THEM SNITCH and actually ride it out with Tony EVERY SEASON …Only Person in this video to snitch is Pussy and he only talks in the beginning….TBH the guy titled it wrong. Just RU-vid “ Tony Finds Pussys wire”….
The range he has in his acting is tremendous! Even his non-verbals are top notch. He sold so many conflicting emotions in a few seconds time just on his staring alone. I’ve rewatched this short 4x in a row just to soak in Gandolfii’s craft here. All-of-a-sudden I have a great want to rewatch this entire series again. Truly a guy masterpiece! Rest In Peace James Gandolfini
They mentioned cuban cigars. The topic about adult entertainment is similar(kind of homage) to when in The Godfather Part 2 Micheal pieced together that Fredo was the one who collaborated with Roth while they were celebrating in Havana.
@@donarthiazi2443definitely I was remiss in not tying Junior in the conversation. The main difference in the scene is that there was a stare off at the end here while similarly separated in part Michael was facing away from the guys laughing it up. Here it almost seems like Tony was ready to give him the kiss of death.
@@cwaterlayne007 Respectfully disagree. AFI ranks the first 2 in the top 5 I think. The movie is referenced in many university classes about acting, directing, casting, set design and screen play/story telling. Not every movie appeals to everyone so I understand and respect your view point. What mob movies do you like the best? I haven’t watched too much of the Sopranos but look forward to catching up.
@@cwaterlayne007Awwww I'm sorry your pea brain can't handle good movies. Go watch some captain marvel or wandavision, that's the perfect brain rot that you might love.
I don’t really think this scene was Tony realizing anything in particular. The idea that Puss might be a rat was already planted in his head last season and he wasn’t 100% positive until he saw the wires and tapes in the cigar box. Everything in between was just his mental torment of knowing that he can’t fully trust a man he loves/loved, and that he’ll need to deal with this eventually, but isn’t ready yet. This was an example of that
It’s called pantomime. Watch the movie ‘True Romance’ The mob boss talks about body language and being deceitful and how to spot a liar. Now go look up the art of body language like the way detectives do in an interrogation, it helps when dealing with a lot of people that like to lie to you.
That is really sad. You meant nothing to him. You were a spectator in his life. He wouldn’t shed a tear on your death. Actors just pretend like children and you idolize these empty vessels. People like you are sad.
It’s almost like Jimmy is feeling the exact emotions of Tony. The change in facial expressions looks so convincing. The pain and anger can be felt through the screen. Amazing scene.
I just watched the whole series again for the 97th time. I can taste and smell The sausage being cooked on the charcoal in this scene! There is not another meal better than sausage and peppers to kickoff the warm weather!
Its a paranoia, you notice the subtle extra fear in their movements, like that fear you put into them isnt the fear they have anymore. You can sense it, like lead pack dog noticing someone ate just a pinch more than him. Its the smallest amount almost trivial. But the eyes never lie. The head dog will always know who ate it like he can smell the extra food in your gut. Just like tony knew the other 3 where all good but puss, puss had that extra fear on him and it fucking stank.
The focus on his face, and then the look in his eyes when he looked right at Tony told him he was under a lot of pressure. They're chilling at a BBQ talking about nothing, and he's sweating his balls off over something. It's obvious when you really look at how he's acting compared to the others, Tony just couldn't believe it would be him of all people.
@@dixenherize6969 you don't watch nature Channel do you 🤣 its a t.v and people are just discussing the stuff the show itself makes dramatic maybe put the cigar out your light headed.
Its like when you see you see your longtime homie start to become a punk or your ride or die girl start to ho off. You care for them so much, you know, but you hope it aint so... I always try to see the good in people but always bites me back
I know how you feel. It changed when I stopped trying to see the good in less than ideal people and surrounded myself with actual good people. Nobody is perfect but it helped.
@@fonztorres I too had to learn the hard way that some people are truly just driven by something, idk what it is, but it's not a good thing like what drives normal innocent good people. Call it evil, call it darkness idk.
