@@allenhughes12 Of course he played more than most in a lifetime, it was his job. Most people never ever hold or will hold a guitar in their hands. It's like saying a brick layer laid more bricks the past ten minutes than most people lay in all of their time on earth.
RIP Tony. You will be terribly missed by so many. But you've left us with so much great music. I'm fortunate to have seen you nearly 20 times, including with the Bluegrass Album Band and a hybrid 'New South Unit' band. I've had you up on my narrow pedestal of guitarists with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Doc Watson, and Richard Thompson for a long time. Maybe a couple more up there too ... we'll see. People used to say of blues greats like Freddie King (who I saw twice), Buddy Guy (same) and BB King (4 times) that they could say more in one note than most guitarists could say in 50 notes. We can say the same about David Anthony Rice.
