I listened to both The Untethered Soul & Surrender Experiment many times, then I was assaulted and had a very bad brain & spinal injury. Then, I listened to them more. That saved me from having a horrible experience & changed it to having an interesting experience. THANKS!!!

I've listened to the audio book of The Untethered Soul twice now - it's life-changing stuff. The most prominent part, for me, was learning to surrender to your fear, experience and notice it. Now when I have a painful feeling, I just let it pass through me rather than trying to distract myself from it or consciously trying not to think about it. It's crazy how easy it is to do this - almost like it's a function of the human spirit that's been lying there all this time but dormant. Knowledge is indeed power!

Marcus, can you pl talk about how you let pain pass through you? Ty kindly
@MarcusBiggins1993
@MarcusBiggins1993 3 года назад
@@rhondapelletier2141 Hi Rhonda, this is the best way; - Next time a fearful/painful emotion comes up, let it do so without resisting, escaping or suppressing it. - Go to a quiet place to be alone. - Close your eyes and let the painful/fearful thought come up. - Affirmations work, like; "I want to think about this" or "I want to surrender to this pain". Your mind will be surprised by this. - It will feel like you're on a rollercoaster and you will truly feel the fear/pain for a short moment. You should know that it cannot harm you in the slightest. - 10 minutes afterwards, or even instantly, you will feel lighter and happier. A few more tips: - Treat this mechanism like a short type of meditation but practice every time you have this feelings come up. - If this feeling is strong, it will come up again, so you will need to repeat the process - the more you do this the less painful it will become until it's totally fizzled away. Basically, let yourself feel this pain and process it correctly and consistently face it head on. I hope this helps =)

One POWERFUL way to handle those inner talks and noise, I use and teach people is to SAY TO YOURSELF: I AM SAFE. Our mind is like an overprotective mother, and when it feels "Danger" is coming, we can break that pattern by feeling and be aware that the threat is not real, is just our mind. Say to yourself: I AM SAFE. Best wishes, don't give up! March 8, 2021

Knowledge is power for the ego - you have to be able to discern the difference. The more knowledge the more the ego thinks it has the world and others beat - with the power of being more knowledgeable ...than others But it has nothing to do with your Soul connecting with your True Self As your Soul already knows what your ego could never understand

This book changed my life as well. On the evening that I was reading a chapter about deciding about happiness no matter what, I decided to be happy no matter what. And the next day I lend a car to a friend who called me about 10min later and reported that he had an accident with my car. It was when I put the phone down that I realised what happened. It was a test that Michael was describing in a book when someone decides to be happy no matter what and I started laughing. :)

This is a very long advert for privileged white man magic. Id like to see M.S. explain this to an intelligent indigenous woman who has survived generational trauma, family alcoholism and abuse caused by that trauma, in a place of powerlessness as they experience their culture and land being taken. If you want to find true surrender go there. If you want to find power and how it comes from that, listen to Pat McCabe. The potential for horror for some people in society from doing this M.S stuff is huge.

Michael Singer's work has been so helpful to me ... I just finished reading "The Surrender Experiment" (The Untethered Soul has been like my Bible for many years now) ... the only thing I wish that had been different in "The Surrender Experiment" was some recounting about how much his mind resisted what life was putting in front of him ... I feel like he just kind of passes over that, minimizes it a bit ... for me, that resistance is the hardest part of surrendering ...all the ways my mind convinces me I'm going to die if I surrender ... I've been at this long enough to know that the mind will say ANYTHING to avoid its own death, but it helps when I read that the same thing happens to those who are farther along the path. Either way ... so grateful.

I've understood that..being a listening ear to your mind helps it calm down. Mind is like a scared kid when it comes to surrendering, it just runs feeling scared, but if you take some time and listen it's story over and over again, it will feel heard and calm down eventually. Just learn to the words, no matter what they are, there's no real need to answer them, listening is enough. Good luck.

This is so true - I once unknowingly used this method to stop a panic attack in a plane. The captain saying, “Doors closed !” sparked it off. Nobody taught me...it just came to me. I began to say, “I am relaxed ! I am ok “ and I literally stopped it. I must have said it a hundred times, like a mantra. I managed to do it and my mind quit with it because I guess it thought, “Oh well. I can’t bother her like that anymore !” 😊😊😊 So, it works !

Our mind by nature is like a fruit picker. The most ripe berry sends a dopamine signal to the brain even before it is eaten. We need to learn to down regulate by voluntarily doing boring things for our minds or things that do not created excitements. Things the mind see as a danger for its stash of dopamine or other neurotransmitters. For example pulling the weeds.in the garden instead of playing video games or doing something we have been postponing like maybe painting the patio. Doing several of those procrastinated items several times a day will feed other part of the soul and a new dynamic will take place. Could be also learning an instrument or a new language or tai chi for that matter. Open the procrastination bag wide open. It is not gold yet. The alchemical reaction will only occur once we voluntarily and experimentally reintroduce those items in our life knowing we won't get that spike we get watching facebook or binging on video games or shopping.

India was looted for over 200 years to call it poor and yet you still have to go there to get more out of that country. Most of the knowledge is from India. It’s a humble country that will always be blessed no matter what. Love people from India who are in India 🇮🇳 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sage is his wife's name, as he clearly introduces her in the beginning. Whether her beauty is "plastic" or not, how does that make anyone else's day any better or worse? You could see the light emanate from her in the way she's sitting and the vocabulary she uses to express herself in how the book made her feel. I feel like only people who are basically fucking around with spirituality will spend their time and leave uncalled comments like that. (which are not so different than getting angry at the "driver infront of you" when you're really using it as the hit man to channel your suppressed emotions through. It's three beautiful and enlightened souls conversing but in the end consciousness talking to itself and consciousness (viewers) being exposed to it online. There shouldn't be any room for negativity of any kind, because as many "negative" things there are to point out, there are that many (if not more) positive things to take from whatever person/situation you're pointing your finger/mental energy towards.

Diana Nazarian This is my favourite comment on RU-vid. We make a mistake in expecting valuable lessons to only come from perfect people. I’m glad this is the first comment I saw because I might have fallen into that trap of focusing on negatively judging her too

Jason Gutierrez to be fair, she’s not him. It makes me believe him more, because he loves her regardless. And if I was married to megamillionaire considered good looking and tall and very appealing to the women he’s attracted to, and I saw myself getting older and seeing more imperfections everyday since youth is what’s considered attractive , I might get very insecure as well. Also I’m sure he’s far from perfect just cause you can inspire others and help them, it’s a lot harder when it’s you SO, family, friends and yourself, because therea lotbof emotion and insecurity that comes into play. If you need your mentors to be near perfect then sure I wouldn’t ‘believe’ him or anyone cause there’s no one that’s true about. It’s just what they show us.

Funny how these middle aged American influencers have all had some cosmetic enhancement but try to lecture us about inner peace Tony & Sage have clearly had some work done , Tony’s done well to get to 61 with no grey hair ! Obviously inner peace doesn’t stretch to growling old gracefully like Michael who is the real hero in this video

24:47 put your consciousness on the noise / repetition / higher mind( just lien the Sallahudin concepts ) 25:03 move your consciousness instead of having to change the mind , the mind is free to release. The whole idea is releasing 25:14 over time you start to be happier. Of course there’s reason you’re not carrying the garbage inside of yourself . 25:21 new set of habit to relax and let go. 25:30 25:32 25:33 relax. It’s Judo, they attack you let it go. 25:42 blade of grass vs oak tree. A hurricane can’t break rip off blade of grass but it can break the oak tree 25:47 that’s what surrender means , doesn’t mean not doing your best or being competitive ( severest ) 25:55 are you willing to let go of the resistance of what’s going on out side and resistance letting go of the things that’s ruining your life 26:07 people get divorce. Keep having the same argument in their head. For years . 26:19 they’re not divorce they’re only divorce on the outside. 26:23 you don’t need to carry this stuff inside of you. It’s not true it’s burned into your brain. 26:27 metaphor 26:34 you have the right to relax instead of resist. 26:41 if you do that and nothing else you’ll start to grt higher naturally. 26:50 bigger stuff will come up but because you’ve built / train spiritual muscle / core strength. This is your inner core strength. 26:56 you’ve built the ability to handle the discomfort cuz if it was stored with pain it will come back with pain . 27:04 would you rather have the pain stay in there or get it over with.

The first few moments described my experience going on a spiritual retreat while in high school. The joy and abundance I experienced as a 15 year old in a mayan indian village just outside the jungle in Belize was life changing. Coming home to a toxic home environment was such a contrast - wow religion is not necessarily spiritual. It’s often anything but. I LOVE your talks Michael - thank you!!

This is an eye opener. Giving yourself a chance to open up to other possibilities in life. I think this is only good for young individuals who has still plenty of time to recover failures and disappointments in life. But if you are already in your 50's you already exactly know what you want. It is perfectly clear what you want and what you don't want in life. So, you need to find soneone who will match your exact needs. If you want emotional stability more than financial stability, go for it. Never ever compromise yourself with other persons personal preference. We grow up differently. We have different values and priorities in life. We need to respect that cause we need to be contented with our decisions. This is a simple joy in getting old.
